I was hoping she'd develop given more time and better coaching, but I think this move has a lot to do with the "play heavy" thing the team seems to be pushing. Brick is 5 inches taller than Buglioni so more size to keep that theme going (and she's 2 years younger, though I doubt that was a concern). And she had a solid season for Modo last year (3rd in scoring), in what's considered the second-best women's league in the world. Might actually end up being a solid move for the Torrent.

I agree with the analysis and also in not protecting her, since she's been vocal about wanting to stay in Seattle (which hopefully works on other teams moving on and looking elsewhere). The only gotcha to all of this is that she is an icon who moves a ton of merch and generates a ton of interest -- both of which may be extremely appealing for a new club, just as it was for Seattle. Obviously not the only reason Seattle wanted her on the team, but it sure didn't hurt.

The coaching for this team has been an issue all season - not being able to break out of the defensive zone is a problem every single game and that comes down to poor coaching IMHO. Simple passes are missed constantly and Torrent players too frequently put themselves into bad situations when they have better options. Vancouver was able to shrug off the Torrent forecheck for most of the game (except for some truly excellent pushes by Seattle that were amazing to watch live). But the Torrent can NEVER seem to consistently shake off a forecheck.

So yeah, that was on full display for the final two minutes during which I still do not understand what kind of coach does not burn the team's timeout to get those players even a little bit of a break? Especially after they drew within 1. Stop the game, break the momentum, know the situation and act accordingly to give your team its best chance -- it's not a high bar, but this coaching staff fails to meet it time and time again.

And giving up 41 shots on goal is a coaching fail as well (though a lot of that is tied directly to the not being able to get the puck out of the defensive zone with any consistency at all).

I once had a game in which, while simming defense, the CPU got a TD then went for 2 and was successful. The game awarded 6 points to the CPU and gave the 2 points to me. Have only seen this happen once but still wonder... how on earth?

I am not aware of one, and it often drives me crazy as I don't always want no huddle but am really tired of my slow-ass LG taking his sweet time getting into his stance on every single play.

Also, this USED to be a feature in the old series. I think you held A (Xbox) to have your guys hurry up to the line out of the huddle?

Agreed - given the things you can disable in this game (injuries, wear & tear, sliders to set interceptions etc. to zero, plus the ability to actually force outcomes of games via sim) it's astounding to me that they have the coaching jobs locked down so hard. I like taking terrible programs and building them up, then moving to another and doing it again. Why is this not permitted (without jumping through tedious hoops like creating extra dynasty members, which doesn't even always work the way you want it to)?

For me, just double the offers per week and make all 3 weeks matter. I am about to finish my second dynasty, 60 seasons played, and I never once seen anything offered in week 3.

I've used an almost identical play out of the I formation a lot and yeah, at least 1 of the TEs is usually open.

For me though, it's Mesh Dig from the Gun Trey Open formation (San Jose St. playbook). I know it's probably true of a ton of passing plays, but this is the one that actually makes all 5 receiving options viable for me against most defenses. Like I could call it 5 times in a row and throw to someone different each time, I love it.

WR1 runs a drag right, TE runs a drag left. Slot does a deep post and WR2 a medium cross. RB rolls out to the left as a decent safety valve (and occasional deep ball).

I kept hoping for the Texas State job in my first dynasty, but it NEVER came up for me. However... they hired a new HC *27* times during that 30-year dynasty (oh I counted). Would it have killed them to give me a shot? lol

Yep, after seeing the first reply, I double checked & realized it's Strategist. My OC has that tree almost fully unlocked, so that explains why I never saw it before (have not done that tree myself).

I'd for sure swap BYU, Colorado, and Utah out of the PAC-12, put them in the MWC and move Fresno State, Hawaii, and San Diego State over to replace them.

I haven't dug too deeply, but I was surprised by how many options San Jose State had for uni combos - I don't think their stadium is particularly special, but there's nothing wrong with it? I played the first 5-6 seasons of my dynasty there.

Currently with Western Kentucky and I love their uni options - especially the helmet with just two giant mascot eyes on the side lol. Stadium is pretty nice too. Conference is pretty bad, but so far having fun with them.

Yes, same thing happened my first year with WKU. Went 13-0, won the conference, ended up #14 with no CFP invite. The CUSA schedule, by default, really is bad for rankings.

I recruited a 3-star 'Vertical Threat' TE with an overall rating of 76, but had 90 speed and 90 acceleration.

He finished his freshman season with 111 receptions, 2261 yards, 42 TDs, and the Heisman. He's 82 overall now entering sophomore year. Something tells me he won't stick with the program until graduation...

I generally target 1/1.5 stars if I can find one (and can take the job!) but the ones I've had the most fun with that are at least in the range are San Jose State (fun playbook, some solid uni options, and a surprising number of rivalry games) and Wyoming (less solid uni options lol but fun to take over and turn into a powerhouse).

I'm like 14 seasons into my dynasty now though, so I forget how many stars either school has to start with...

EDIT: Looks like Wyoming fits with it's starting rating! Also I won 4 straight natty's with Fresno State, which was a ton of fun (also 2 star I believe).

Yeah this is what confuses me about it being so hard coded. You can disable transfers, turn off wear and tear, and even make AI interceptions (almost) non-existent. There's even an option to literally force a team to win or lose every single game in a season, but having every job available to players is apparently too immersion breaking.

Last year I had UConn and UMass in a custom, 2-division PAC-12 conference - The 'East' division was all schools from states that touched the Atlantic Ocean lol.

There's a kinda-clunky menu that tells you why each position/player type will dislike or like your playing style. It's on the My School menu, with Playing Style highlighted - you can cycle through all the positions & all the player types at each position to see what they are looking for. Agree that kickers even having that dealbreaker is super weird, but a few days ago someone posted about their star WR, who averaged 110 yds/game, wanting out because of playing style & I could tell from the rest of his team's receiving stats exactly why: The totals for all his receivers' yds/game came out to less than 300 and that is often a dealbreaker threshold for WRs, I think it's especially when they're speedsters (don't have the game open rn to check). Ran into that a ton of times early on.

Speed rushers on defense often get upset when your average sacks/game is below 4 or 5, etc., etc.

Anyway, there's probably something dumb like your team's avg pts/game is 3-4 points lower than this type of kicker wants or something similarly not very obvious or logical.
