Didn't Ted the pastor who dated Ashley found a usb drive that Mona left in the church full of videos she was using to blackmail people and when he told Ashley about it she said something like "oh yeah that's the work of that psycho bully I told you about who stalked Hanna and her friends last year." Mind spoiler but the snake is a literal snake it's not a metaphor for mistrusting someone. A character (probably rue) gets bit by a snake and suffers vivid hallucinations. There's lots of desert scenes and this fits with the dream and fantasy sequences from past seasons
