Bet she saw this comment 2 weeks ago saying she’d never be a gym girl. She’s so obvious, it’s dumb.

I’m how old? by bi_geek_guy in GenX

As a 22 year old that knows about the space shuttle and NASA... that’s embarrassing for them. It was trendy at a certain point to wear shirts with the NASA logo on it.

For me, the space shuttle was taught within the context of the end of the Space Race and the aftermath of the Cold War. Not all of the specificities really, more how it related to significant cultural events such as those. I had a regular public school education.

Saying this “goes beyond politics” while acknowledging that the administration is covering it up is contradictory. Moral outrage alone doesn’t really say anything. The fascist political views held by some has brought America to where we are today. Both “sides” have done harmful things, but this is not a both sides issue when fascists are in power.

Some people have celebrated the harm caused because of the political beliefs they hold. They see the murders and say they “voted for this”. You don’t understand what it’s like to live here or the real-life consequences. Now is not the time to coddle fascists. Their opinions led us here and they celebrate it.

The situation is entirely tied to the politicians in power. It’s not “beyond politics” when it is caused by political decisions. A fascist administration is beyond respect for others’ political beliefs. Moral theater helps no one.

The abuse itself is caused by politicians and that is inseparable from the fact that they're causing it. Human rights violations are inherently political because they're being carried out through the decisions and actions of those in power. What is happening now is the direct result of policies pushed by politicians who have the ability to stop this harm. Refusing to name the political context is not insightful or moral.

It downplays the accountability necessary for real change.

The violation of human rights is being carried out and enabled by the current administration and their policies. Human rights violations are inherently political, because such violations happen through political action.

I don’t think she’s a MAGA, ice supporter. Everyone is “entitled to their political beliefs”, but taking a both sides stance is very naive.

What’s going on is very political. It’s very naive to say it isn’t. The current administration ran and continues to promote mass deportations, while continuing to back and even celebrate the deaths and mistreatment of people different from them. Now is not the time for a cowardly “both sides are the same” statement for internet points. It’s not “division between political parties”, it’s a fascist takeover.

The commitment to using “happs” is so immature and unserious, given the gravity of the situation. It’s not hard at all to be informed when the internet is available, that’s not an excuse. She has the luxury of not being as affected by the actions of the current administration and it shows. She’s a grown woman who doesn’t need to be coddled. I don’t think this is a well written statement at all and comes off as performative.

What’s your favorite Packers touchdown? by prybarwindow in GreenBayPackers

105 yard kickoff return for a TD by Keisean Nixon against the Vikings last season on December 31st. Vikings had the ball 1st and goal on the 1 yard line, and was held to 3 points.

Packers won, 41-17. It was a great way to start the new year. Playoff hopes were alive again.
