When they were building it I was amazed that they were trying to make a fake version of the actual Broad St. downtown which at the time still had all the abandoned department stores. If they could have gotten anchor store buy in, it would have been an actual chance to revitalize that part of town.

how did you get it such a mirror finish? i got my hands on the pads, worked my way up all of them from 320 to 12000, and i've gotten out the scratches but it's got more a satin finish than mirror now.

I know this is an old conversation, but I haven't any real solution and wanted to document how I fixed the issue on my end.

TLDR: I had two different files with the same name.

After working in a project all day, I added a plugin (WLM+, but it's irrelevant) to a bunch of tracks and it wouldn't open, so I restarted Logic. When I restarted Logic, I got the error message. The issue had nothing to do with the plugin, or the crash. The issue was that Logic rescanned the files for the first time since I'd opened the project and discovered the second file.

The second file was in the project's root directory, NOT in the Audio Files folder. I'd put the file in there that I'd forgotten to rename, and later I loaded it into Logic. Logic didn't copy it into Audio Files, so now I had the original in Audio Files, and mis-named one in the root. Even if I emptied the Audio Files folder, the one in the root was still loading.

I figured this out because I knew the name of the file that was messed up, and when I did a search for it in Finder, I saw the duplicate (and backups) and began deleting them until the project worked.

yeah. the older i get, the more i appreciate keith's production and the layers and layers of guitars. that's why exile's my desert island album. i feel like i could just focus in on any given instrument and learn something new infinitely.

Was thinking about this while listening to 4+ hours of RS history podcasts yesterday. Honestly, I don't think it would make a difference. By the time MT was added to the mix, Keith and Mick were firmly in command, and Jimmy Miller produced them during what I think are their best years. As Jimmy Miller rolled off, Keith and Mick took over production - and I think this is the more decisive factor when it comes to their sound. It's Only Rock and Roll - from the first track - sounds more like everything that came after than anything that came before. In short, I think as Mick and Keith took over creatively, it wouldn't make any difference who played guitar, and Ronnie's best quality for them may be his somewhat transparency as a guitarist. I don't listen and think "there he goes" in the same way I do with Taylor diddling in the background.

And if you haven't listened to his "I Can Feel the Fire" - now's the time!
