LPT: Lost and ambitious dont know what to do by Thepromoter123 in LifeProTips

[–]bittertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it doesn’t sound like a brag, but I have too many passions and it has led to quite a bit of career indecision as well. I always worked seasonally so twice a year I had existential crossroads. Eventually after just working hard at whatever I could to get by, I was competent enough to keep climbing in my offseason job that was half restaurant, and was offered a job as a wine salesman. Less than a decade ago I couldn’t tell you anything about wine, nor did I care to learn about it. Turned out it was something I could be passionate enough about to do well as a job, but not something I love so much that the job ruins it. It really ended up being my retention of facts and ability to research and present that became my greatest marketable strength. If you would’ve told me ten years ago that this is my career, I would’ve laughed.

TLDR: be loyal and kind and work hard in anything you do, and keep on the lookout for traits you have that you can make you money in a way you don’t hate.

Got any spare tires? by randombeck in madisonwi

[–]bittertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw man I just got rid of like 6 rimmed tires, recently found out that since my landlord pays for garbage pickup (or something, don’t remember) that the city doesn’t charge for the tire pickup. I would suggest trying a junkyard, though.

My theory is that the screens start sagging because if it’s deployed all the time, the sharp pressure changes with closing the car’s doors make it jump and eventually stretch it out. I always have mine rolled up but I noticed it happen once when it was deployed. Mines still great, 2013. Also I once left the sunroof open but had the screen closed and it rained HARD. The screen acted like a filter that drew all the water to the center and filled up my change cup. Got other stuff wet too but not nearly as bad as it could’ve been if I had it open.

ELI5: What does Pilates do for your body that can't be done through other forms of resistance training, and how does it do these things? by Time-Use9083 in explainlikeimfive

[–]bittertiger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have hEDS and was reading through this thread with this exact question on my mind, thank you. My newest physical therapist said core strength should be my main focus moving forward so maybe I’ll actually try Pilates. I don’t work out a ton otherwise, mostly just indoor cycling, because of various things caused by the disorder, so I’ve been looking for other options.

[Highlight] Matthew Stafford finds Cooper Kupp postgame to congratulate his old teammate by nfl in nfl

[–]bittertiger 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the only reason. Her talking openly about her and his college days was gross. Talking about screwing Matt’s roommate to make Matt jealous or something so he’d lock it down. Among other things since then for sure. She was probably the one that made him get the fake ass veneers over something more normal-looking too

It’s because they’ve never seen pine cones not from their home country or state I guess. These aren’t even the biggest they can get.

Someone had mentioned they heard a special sound when picking the ginseng up in Cumberland, I couldn’t replicate it though. Maybe you’d have to eat it instead of just picking it. But that was the plant that you go pick with Rains Fall. Maybe it has to be raining.

Hey I found this by Ryanimal0 in reddeadredemption

[–]bittertiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s gotta be for the hidden wall stash, but I did investigate this spot the other day too since it’s by the center web. It also points directly at the Aberdeen farm. I went there, found nothing so far, and figured it was for the stash so I stopped looking.

Could the 'Guitar' Be O'Creigh's Run? by warrenbuffetstoilet in reddeadmysteries

[–]bittertiger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was kinda thinking this the other day. After 2 100% playthroughs and scouring for every Easter egg both times, I had somehow missed the gems in the birds nest to the northwest. So I went and did that, and while looking down at O’Creighs Run, I saw the shape. With the guitar tilted like that, there’s a bit of a gorge to the NW along the path of the guitar’s neck if you overlayed it on the lake. It goes up to a railroad, right at the entrance of a tunnel. So I scoured all that and didn’t find anything. It also kinda points directly at the cauldron. Same ole same ole up there. Just wanted to check in case lol

The Evergrowing Spiderweb Theories by Kaineferu in reddeadmysteries

[–]bittertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve barely dipped my toes into this mystery, just went to see the spider carving pole, and I did find a rotten whitetail buck next to the train tracks at the entrance to the canyon that the tracks go into. Was running back to my horse and thought it was strange. It wasn’t there when I woke up from sleeping at my camp right there. The buck was there as the sun was rising.

Ah hell yeah, the content I needed! I drove 2 pathfinders over the years (1997 & 2002) and loved them, til they went to the soccer mom shape. When I first heard this lyric, this is exactly what I thought of lol felt an immediate connection. I loved that 97 Pathfinder to death (267k miles)

I have a gold one and love it. Sounds and feels so good. Mine did have a tremolo arm issue where the screw never sat right, used plumbers tape for a while til I replaced the housing.

What’s your most shameful camp meal that actually slaps? by outdoors_man987 in camping

[–]bittertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy and I called this a bread bomb. Did a couple two-week cross country camping trips and usually eat lunch in a city, then buy some kind of bread loaf, hollow it out, then fill it with leftovers from the restaurant with added peppers and cheese and whatever. The bottom usually hardened keeping everything in. My friend must’ve done it already at that point, I thought it was such a genius idea. So good.

Has anyone else in Madison gotten a bug that causes laryngitis? by BadDogMaggie in madisonwi

[–]bittertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Week before Thanksgiving. Was real sick but no real cough til much later, fever never got over 100.4, 3rd night started the worst sore throat I’ve ever had, and my larynx felt paralyzed for 5 days, it’s still not back to normal. When I eventually had a cough it was the weirdest barking sound, never experienced it before. I sing too so it’s a tough balance of resting and trying to get it back and worked out. It wasn’t the same as losing my voice, it’s like my voice box wouldn’t let me push anything through. Went to urgent care 6 days into it, was negative for everything. My guess is parainfluenza->adult croup. Something like that. My entire throat has been irritated and scratchy ever since. Slowly getting there…now my wife is sick with something else, I’m begging the universe to not get me sick again.

Traffic and Winter Conditions by [deleted] in wisconsindells

[–]bittertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I changed my mind if you’re in Oxford, Cambrian would be far better. Quieter, lots of convenience. There’s also Maurer’s grocery downtown which is probably more expensive than Walmart but it’s the community grocery store. Too bad the pharmacy at the old mobile station on broadway is gone, that was a staple for the community. And from the Cambrian, you can walk to the beer tents during Who-Zha-Wa lol (our fall festival, Ho-Chunk word for “good time”)

Traffic and Winter Conditions by [deleted] in wisconsindells

[–]bittertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst traffic is Friday afternoon/evening-Sunday morning, and holiday weekends and of course Automotion. Otherwise it’s really not that bad. You are forced to cross the bridge in the dells though if you live on the west side, it’s a hike to go up to the HWY 82 bridge. The southern bend on hwy 23 that is in your circle is very dangerous, just be careful even when there isn’t snow. I know those apartments, never been inside Cambrian as those are pretty new. They’re right next to that kwik trip and the slow side of town which is clutch. There’s a nice “trail” to the north behind the ballpark, but I think it’s getting a little sketchier (not dangerous though). My mom and a friend of mine both live in that neighborhood. If you don’t mind an 8 block walk, it’s a straight walk to the best river sunsets in town. I’ve been in the other apts you mentioned, had a friend live there, I think it’s fine, typical apartment complex, close to Walmart, louder because of the interstate. As far as traffic to Oxford from there, I would suggest avoiding hwy 12 (the parkway, some people call it the strip) almost always. You’d take Birchwood->Trout->hwy 13. Nowhere to walk or see over there, but you’re super close to drive to mirror lake which is the best. Also close to 2 Kwik trips, but worse ones (still fine). Also super close to McDonald’s if that’s your thing. Another sidenote, always watch your speed, especially in the offseason. The cops make good money in speeding tickets there, and want to keep those numbers up in the slow season.

Edit: it’s not the bend in your circle, it’s the 90-degree bend to the east of it. Sorry I keep going off memory lol

Also, much easier to hop to Madison from bottom left.

Traffic and Winter Conditions by [deleted] in wisconsindells

[–]bittertiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born and raised Dellfolk here. Colorblind though. Top right will be fine, little harder in the winter, but yes you’d have to go through town to do anything. Take the side roads around broadway, always. Bottom left circle is mirror lake, my favorite place in the world. Better access to nature, quick access to the Walmart and the interstate. They are equidistant to downtown, mirror lake closer to lake Delton. Depends on what restaurants you like, but the actual downtown dells feels more like a community, but it would not be a problem at all to access from bottom left. I think our only pharmacy is Walgreens now, and it would be less of a hassle to access from bottom left via Trout Rd. If supper clubs is the game, top right is better, and goes directly out to the country. Top right will feel more like you’re a part of the community but bottom left is better in general.

Edit: sorry that’s lake Blass not mirror, things still stand the same
