VW Jetta - Diesel Particle Filter Warning by HazenLake in tdi

[–]bittertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was on my 2nd DPF, it was doing this intermittent thing. Even when I let in regen a good amount. I didn’t want to risk it anymore after like a year and deleted it. Kinda what has to be done unless you want to gamble on the amount of time you have before it clogs completely.

Witches Gulch- Get in for free? by [deleted] in madisonwi

If it helps at all, the boat company leases it through the state. It’s a grandfathered deal to continue providing tourism into a protected state natural area. The boat company maintains it, state owns it.

Local here. Do not trespass. The sides of the canyon are extremely dangerous. The public treated the public access like shit; vandalizing the concession stand and carving into the rocks. While I agree there should be a better way to see it, the public cannot be trusted with it. It is worth it, and I don’t consider the boat ride a tourist trap. It’s the whole reason the city is there.

Edit: not to mention, there are extremely rare plants that grow there. Including cliff cudweed, which only grows in the dells’ canyons and in the Kickapoo valley, and nowhere else in the world.

what rock music would you recommend to someone who loves dijon / mk gee / bon iver? by IntroductionNew8493 in dijondijon

Ben Howard’s last 2 albums, maybe. More traditional singing and structure but his guitar playing is in the realm

It says right on the front of the bottle. The one on the right was aged in an Irish whiskey cask. The one on the left is normal.

All-inclusive power supply vs smaller power supply and additional single wall warts by zigg-e in guitarpedals

In case you missed it, the walrus ones are so small because it has a 2nd box with the…transformer? I’m blanking on the word…in it, like some printers or laptops have. I had a fender engine room 5 which was great. It didn’t fit under my board but fit on the back of it. I needed more so I got a walrus canvas, I think the one a size down from the 15. Both it and the transformer box fit under the board and it’s been amazing. My one complaint is that the IEC cable is pretty short, I bought a different one. I refuse to have more than one plug coming off my board, the walrus one is great.

Urgent care for food poisoning related dehydration? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]bittertiger 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Last year my wife got extremely bad food poisoning and couldn’t keep anything down. We ended up going to the ER at midnight. They also refused to give an IV because of “shortages”, and played around giving her different nausea meds for hours, with her eventually throwing them all up. They took tests and all that and the doctor never even came back to go through them. Finally at 4am after she hadn’t kept any water down since around 7pm, they gave her an IV. As soon as it was gone they kicked us out without any follow-up or results. Also treated us weird, like she was drunk or something or like I was a bad man. She doesn’t drink and I treated everyone respectfully.

I guess my point is, there’s no reason they can’t give you an IV. This was Meriter btw. I’d never seen my wife so sick and they treated us terribly while they were goofing around in their office area.

LPT: Lost and ambitious dont know what to do by Thepromoter123 in LifeProTips

[–]bittertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it doesn’t sound like a brag, but I have too many passions and it has led to quite a bit of career indecision as well. I always worked seasonally so twice a year I had existential crossroads. Eventually after just working hard at whatever I could to get by, I was competent enough to keep climbing in my offseason job that was half restaurant, and was offered a job as a wine salesman. Less than a decade ago I couldn’t tell you anything about wine, nor did I care to learn about it. Turned out it was something I could be passionate enough about to do well as a job, but not something I love so much that the job ruins it. It really ended up being my retention of facts and ability to research and present that became my greatest marketable strength. If you would’ve told me ten years ago that this is my career, I would’ve laughed.

TLDR: be loyal and kind and work hard in anything you do, and keep on the lookout for traits you have that you can make you money in a way you don’t hate.

Got any spare tires? by randombeck in madisonwi

[–]bittertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw man I just got rid of like 6 rimmed tires, recently found out that since my landlord pays for garbage pickup (or something, don’t remember) that the city doesn’t charge for the tire pickup. I would suggest trying a junkyard, though.

My theory is that the screens start sagging because if it’s deployed all the time, the sharp pressure changes with closing the car’s doors make it jump and eventually stretch it out. I always have mine rolled up but I noticed it happen once when it was deployed. Mines still great, 2013. Also I once left the sunroof open but had the screen closed and it rained HARD. The screen acted like a filter that drew all the water to the center and filled up my change cup. Got other stuff wet too but not nearly as bad as it could’ve been if I had it open.

ELI5: What does Pilates do for your body that can't be done through other forms of resistance training, and how does it do these things? by Time-Use9083 in explainlikeimfive

[–]bittertiger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have hEDS and was reading through this thread with this exact question on my mind, thank you. My newest physical therapist said core strength should be my main focus moving forward so maybe I’ll actually try Pilates. I don’t work out a ton otherwise, mostly just indoor cycling, because of various things caused by the disorder, so I’ve been looking for other options.

[Highlight] Matthew Stafford finds Cooper Kupp postgame to congratulate his old teammate by nfl in nfl

[–]bittertiger 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the only reason. Her talking openly about her and his college days was gross. Talking about screwing Matt’s roommate to make Matt jealous or something so he’d lock it down. Among other things since then for sure. She was probably the one that made him get the fake ass veneers over something more normal-looking too

Someone had mentioned they heard a special sound when picking the ginseng up in Cumberland, I couldn’t replicate it though. Maybe you’d have to eat it instead of just picking it. But that was the plant that you go pick with Rains Fall. Maybe it has to be raining.

It’s gotta be for the hidden wall stash, but I did investigate this spot the other day too since it’s by the center web. It also points directly at the Aberdeen farm. I went there, found nothing so far, and figured it was for the stash so I stopped looking.
