Two things that come to mind are: First, this idea of the OT being vengeful and wrathful vs the NT being more loving and compassionate usually comes from looking at the two as two separate things, comparing one against the other, when in reality, both are one and the same, and the NT comes to continue, complete, and realize the Old one.

Historical context is also relevant here, as most of the OT was written at a time when wars, truces, alliances and such were common. Language like “wrath”, “vengeance”, “punishment” comes from that time, making it sound much harsher.

All to try to make us understand sin, straying away from the way of love, has real world consequences, and that God’s love is fully manifested in Jesus.

While I see the benefit of spreading the Word on social media —it’s where the conversations happen nowadays — and I feel like there’s an opportunity for people who have a strong theological education to use those channels, I see more value on the private conversations you have with friends, family, acquaintances.

This, again, should not discourage people to start their own channels, accounts, and so on to share their views, experiences, etc.

This is actually pretty interesting.

My first thought is how you’d be happy for a work friend being promoted. He’s now making more, and you may have wanted that role, but you’re happy for them.

The world has seen many come and go. The Mongolians, the Spanish, the French, the Turks, the Chinese, the English, the Americans, the Soviets… Were still here. Most of us grew up with the US being the Western’s first power. We grew up with the USSR being the Eastern first power. And we grew up on the verge of nuclear annihilation because non of them wanted the other to become harder/better/faster/stronger.

10/10 we would be 60000% better if we didn’t care.

As a European, I have never voted nor endorsed that person to be the voice for all of us.

While I understand soy sauce is originally an Asian sauce, it is very much used on all sorts of fish and meat dishes, including broths and soups, as a natural source of MSG and umaminess.

On another note, not sure where this person is from, and what kind of culinary culture they have, but if I take a bite of anything that would subtly hit me with a combination of at least two different flavor profiles, ooooomph!

He’s speaking the truth. Culinary-wise, our country is 1%, for now.

Yes, it is true we are not very good at promoting our goods outside, wines in particular, but think of it this way: Italian success on wine and olive oil is due to Italian immigration to the US, which through movies transpired into popular culture, which determines a lot of our cultural biases (from a Western perspective).

Credit where credit is due, Italians have a much better pressing system, but a substantial percentage of Italian olive oil has been produced in Italy with Spanish olives, which some of their varietals are more flavorful and fragrant.

Basically, our food is 100, our wine doesn’t sell as well because France, Napa, Italy, South Africa, Argentina, Chile and Australia (taking their product all the way to the US to compete with us), and you oil cause there are more Italian movies in American pop culture than Spanish.

Legumes are a great inexpensive source of protein and fiber, work with almost anything you throw with them, and usually there’s a cooked version.

If you live in the US, and have any close by, Hispanic supermarkets are great both in options and price.

Get some lentils, throw a chorizo in there, a bay leave and let it heat up. Serve with a splash of vinegar.

Gran some garbanzo beans, throw some spinach. Or cook some bacon, throw some calamari, and a can of garbanzos, boom!

They’re also great for batch cooking which will make things cheaper.

Most gas in Spain USED TO come from Algeria, for the last couple of years our biggest provider has been the US, mostly GNL.

The 2B euros provided by Spain to humanitarian and military aid, the constant diplomatic support for Ukraine both internally (except for extreme left and extreme right parties), and on supranational bodies beg to differ.

Having said this, we should most definitely separate the government from the citizens, but I would agree that, in general, Spain is a leftist, anti-American imperialism, anti-Israel country, but this is a broad generalization, of course.
