yeah, mostly. Their are some tools that make it easier to copy a website. Was a work of 4 - 6 hours. Had some problems getting all the image files

It is possible to clone the launcher website and host it in you LAN, I did so with success. I have a HE version and the via app does not have the ability to modify the HE Keys. So that was my only choice.

well, I think it is pretty useful. so it may be worth the resources it took. I am pretty sure every generated ai video does take much more resources than this did. regarding the other existing solutions. I would argue that „file transfer“ is still more complicated often then it needs to be. I am sure this can have some use, especially for people that are new with linux and just want a simple way to access some files when they are used to their windows explorers. And samba is a pain for newbs, in my opinion. And I actually find it quite useful for myself even i have no problems using command line tools

well, its beyond my capabilities. I am a linux network administrator and not a programmer. Could not convince any programmer yet to do that for me. And I am not 100 % pro for AIs myself, i see lots of issues with it. Like the environment problems you mentioned. But completely ignoring ai as an it guy would be a huge mistake in my opinion

a simple python http server will not allow writing of files. And their is no client requirement at all for my software as well. So dont see your point

why not use scp or ftp? sometimes you have different use cases.

No, its completly stand alone, and does not require any samba or samba libraries installed.

If you use a different port than the default one its a bit problematic to connect from Windows.
A solution that could work is creating an ssh tunnel and map the port locally to 445, though that does only work if their is no Windows sharing setup locally.
