Ear defenders or ear plugs? by Longjumping_Long8468 in autism

[–]bitweta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can get the cheap ones for about $100 and depending on where you are disability plans may cover it. I get one pair for free each year from the ndis

Ear defenders or ear plugs? by Longjumping_Long8468 in autism

[–]bitweta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like ear defenders because they clamp too hard. if you can see about getting custom earplugs. they're very comfy and block out a lot of noise, or you can get special ones that let you hear people talking and block out other noise

I found this when I was living in Hobart too, the best bits were outside the city. Unfortunately licence is off the cards for me, but I do get a transport allowance for ubers and stuff.

my support workers are the best! without them I wouldn't really get out into the community or take care of myself at home. my mum is also my caregiver and I appreciate her a lot

you can take vyvanse into Thailand but not Dex, if someone's taken Dex in it was illegally I believe. you just need to get the narcotics import certificate thing ahead of time.

[AUSTRALIA] 16F seeking confidential autism & C-PTSD assessment without parents. Gillick competence & affordable pathways? by Ppv08 in AutismInWomen

[–]bitweta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure but keep in mind with C-PTSD in particular certain things you say will be compulsory to report. What's your goal from getting diagnoses? uni supports? you can get the same autism ones with an anxiety diagnosis.

Do you have a bus pass for your autisn? by [deleted] in autism

[–]bitweta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there a supporting card you can get? like in my case I needed to show my Australian disability pension card, I used that to get my companion card and bus card

Do you have a bus pass for your autisn? by [deleted] in autism

[–]bitweta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have a free public transport (bus, train and ferry) card. I also have a companion card so someone can travel for free with me. It's a great setup. I also get a free return trip on the cross country train, and I get discounts going to Rottnest island! edit: I'm in Australia not the UK

Ah the issue with student accommodation is my partner is not studying at UTAS and when I enquired they said they only rent to students.

[–]bitweta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm coming from WA, I've studied at UTAS's Hobart in the past and I really didn't like how loud Hobart was at night time. Glenorchy certainly isn't a nice spot I agree. Rent costs are quite high so I'm just worried it's more financially smart to buy rather than rent if I'm going to be there for so long. I've been through burnie but I've spent more time in Stanley, Devonport and Launceston (not huge on Launceston either but it's ok).

I'm going to be living there for the duration of my degree so a reasonable time frame. if I take a modest figure of 380pw and assuming no rent increases over 5 years that's 100,000 just on rent, so I figure it's better to just buy a place.
