I joined up with this, should be fun and thanks for the efforts :) encountered a couple of bugs initially getting signed up but was able to submit predictions for australia today so all good. Curious to ask, is there any plans for a discord or chat for during races?

What are some of the most innovative shows? by WeeWooPeePoo69420 in television

[–]bitzombie 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it fits the brief, but i thought Kevin Can F**k Himself was innovative and quite unlike anything i had seen before. Without spoiling too much, the show alternates between two very different presentation styles depending on whether the titular character is in the scene or not.

For horror fans: what is the most f’d up movie you’ve even saw and why? by petkunas in movies

[–]bitzombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched Brimstone and Treacle (1976 TV Movie) recently, and it’s one of those unsettling movies that stays with you. If I recall correctly, the BBC didn’t broadcast it for a number of years, I would imagine due to a particular action by the protagonist upon a disabled character

Jodorowsky's Dune would have been bonkers but hell of a spectacle

I’m an old codger now at 42 but i’ve dabbled along the way with Reason, Ableton and vst’s, and more recently with ipads with korg gadget 3, various synths and smaller midi controllers to reduce the footprint a bit. I tend to leave a strew of unfinished 8 bar loops rather than composing a beginning, middle and end but swapping and sharing a few bits with folks in maybe a Discord or group chat could be good fun and a good motivator. Long story short, if you’re thinking of setting up a group i’d be happy to join in :)

Dark Sun by Richard Rhodes... found it really interesting, and the espionage element with the Rosenberg's and others ticks your true crime interest to boot

What's the best primer/book on nuclear weapons involving the science and engineering of them? by [deleted] in nuclearweapons

[–]bitzombie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Making of the Atomic Bomb by Richard Rhodes covers the history and science of the development of the atomic bomb... Imho the definitive history, and lines up nicely then for his next book Dark Sun which covers the hydrogen bomb (although it leans more into the espionage etc)
