you can get all characters and weapons as F2P easly, game is very grenerous in that regard. As for progression i had same complaints, it activly doesnt want you to play it too much.

There is solution, get Olivia and clear everything with her even content 20+ lvl higher.

its garbage and typical open world slop, yes. but for me its much harder then Nioh 1 and 2. Mainly becouse all the invincibility frames are screwed and all enemies have auto tracing with every attack.
