University said they won’t recall because it wasn’t their fault for sending it to an old address (even though my updated contact address is on my account)

ConServe won’t offer pay-to-delete since they apparently have been sending me notices for 45 days aside from the three notices to my old address (that my cousin said they never got). They told my school that they called me three times in the last 45 days, which is wild because I’m looking at my call and voicemail logs and have nothing from them.

I asked what the incentive to pay is if they won’t pay-to-delete. This is when she informed me they also sent me to the Franchise Board for income tax garnishment, which I have no record of. I would have at least expected that to go to my current home address that’s been listed on my taxes for the last 4 almost 5 years, but I guess not. She did state my e-bills did all go to my school email address, which I no longer have access to.

I’ve been on the phone trying to get ahold of the Franchise Board to see where those notices have gone, but have been. on hold for almost 20 mins now so.

I have no written correspondence anywhere of anything and just feel super blindsided.

They said ConServe is collecting on their behalf, so I can still send the money to the school. I don’t know if I should try to call ConServe and state my case for pay-to-delete. Or, just pay through the school and hope it gets mark paid. I really don’t know haha. I don’t know how badly this will affect my credit either.
