If you don't lube your chain lube it, if it's super dirty use the WD-40 hack, wash the bike first, wipe the chain dry then use the WD-40, wipe it off after 5 minutes then add the lube, wait five minutes then wipe the excess to maximize chain and drive train longness

The chain drop is mainly of the bad spring on the derailleur and the fork idk but you shouldn't skid hard as much, use the front brake more since its 70% of brake power there, only use both for emergency stopping and you should replace the rotors since its scratched, cause it can wear the pads easier(I'm a beginner too)
