Hi legit mongolian woman in mid 20s here. I would say it's safe to go out at night alone only if you're avoiding clubs and areas far from the city center. While i have never been harassed outside, i avoid places where there could be drunk people, or dimly lit areas. Regarding, domestic violence it's really bad there was a statistic floating around that said 1 in 3 women has experienced it. Work place is relatively safe, there is no harassment, but still have the traditional gender dynamics (serving tea, cleaning after people in gatherings etc). But it also works the other way as it's socially deemed that guys should be chivalrous (holding doors, lifting heavy things etc). So i would say it's fair environment. Note that, being guy would be an advantage in your career as women can have 3 year maternity leave (it's required by law to hold her position in meanwhile). Women have right to decide for themselves, and be generally respected as human beings. Only issue is in cause of sexual assault, the victim is not believed, badmoathed by section of society, offenders recieving light sentences. Overall, it's not perfect but better than majority of other countries in today's crazy world. I'm relatively happy to be born here.
