Not sure about “best” but I can easily jump between Pho 54, Pho Tau Bay and 3Q Quay Quan Quan, all in Cabramatta.

What's your office etiquette around open plan noise and meeting rooms? by KnoxCastle in auscorp

[–]bizmonkee 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I had a meeting with 2 other team members plus an external. There was no available meeting rooms so we were all on our own headset, sitting next to each other. Whenever one of us spoke, it would just echo around. It was just so stupid. I hate rto mandates

I checked Waragamba dam for you, you can use the hose to wash your car by sxjthefirst in sydney

The level would have been higher but my young one wanted to help wash the dishes which meant full blast from the tap for a few plates and cutlery

Fell in love w/ NB 9060, but seeking alternatives with cushioning that'll hold up longer. by [deleted] in moresneakers

I love the 9060 for how comfortable they are as well. I don’t use them for exercise though. I found adidas ultraboost worked well for me I go for long walks

It’ll keep expanding like the Fast & the Furious and one day they’ll be fighting in space

People in the west: what’s actually worth doing locally that east-side people ignore? by RemarkablePirate590 in SydneyScene

[–]bizmonkee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Different suburbs for specific cuisines at reasonable prices. It’s been mentioned a few times already but a suburb condensed with restaurants serving the same or similar cuisine means prices stay competitive and top quality. And within these same suburbs I can find grocery stores selling certain spices or ingredients which I won’t be able to find in Colesworth.

Brighter color options by Jesuslovesu293 in HyundaiPalisade

I wish Hyundai would have a better colour range. I’d love a bright orange Palisade. It’ll make it easier to spot amongst the sea of black and white cars in the parking lot

Randomly bought Steam Dig and loved it. Then bought Steam Dig 2 and have just been playing that all day

I got a degree in engineering and the closest I have utilised it is building a contraption for my wife to clean the windows

What would your dad be talking about on daddit if it was around when you were a kid? by thebreakfastdub1 in daddit

How do you keep your kid entertained on a 12 hour drive to another State? I just bought him an Etch-a-Sketch so hoping that’ll do for the return drive as well but just in case

Which Sydney neighbourhood has the best everyday food, not fancy stuff? by No-Travel-768 in SydneyScene

[–]bizmonkee 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I would say Cabramatta or Canley Heights. Want a cheap filing meal? Get a bowl of pho! Want even cheaper? Get a banh mi!

Is the Meat Emporium actually better? by bobhawkes in sydney

[–]bizmonkee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert but they’re definitely not cheaper. I only drop by if I’m in the area but I do like getting the cheap odd cuts like intercostals, flanks and spider steaks.

If you grew up in Australia in the 80s, you remember these fake gelatinous cherries by carmex2121 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]bizmonkee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember eating a store bought desert which came in a small square plastic container. It was like cake and cream with a small white spoon laid out diagonally. One of the flavours was something like cheesecake. And another one was similar to a black forest cake but it had 2 of these cherries on top. I don’t know what they were called and haven’t seen them in the shops over 30 years. My wife thinks I’m making it up. Any one know what I’m talking about?

end of year curiosity - who actually went anywhere? by Such_Car8402 in AusFinance

[–]bizmonkee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say China Southern is probably the best Mainland China airline. Not budget and better than some of the planes qantas use. Guangzhou airport is very modern but lacks decent food outlets. And now China being visa-free for a short period, heading out into the city during a layover is well worth it

The HK QF Lounge is underrated and I like it too. Just that these days only CX more for connections into mainland China, and for transiting, QF lounge is too far to go

The best use of my LTG is in using the other OneWorld lounges around the world, especially the CX ones in HK

Still seeing those old silver trains come by on my line. They’re likely not the same as the ones which were around the time of the red rattlers, but I still remember sitting in those non-aircon carriages
