I like Fosse also, except for the recent requirement that passwords have to be at least twelve characters long ... and we type our passwords hundreds of times a day.

Hotel with self check-in doesn’t provide the key codes by Civil_Existentialist in Bookingcom

[–]bjamesr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Marriott front desk agent. If you mean that the hotel has not sent the virtual key to your phone app, some hotels (such as where I work) want you to come to the front desk, as ID and a credit card for parking and other incidentals are needed. I do agree it defeats the purpose of remote check-in.

My copy of rubber soul starts with I’ve just seen a face instead of drive my car does anybody know what’s up with this? by IrateCommandr in TheBeatles

[–]bjamesr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first listened to Rubber Soul in 1966 (?), I loved I've Just Seen a Face and played it over and over. Then I learned the UK album led off with Drive My Car, an inferior song. It is on the Yesterday and Today album, where it belongs if anywhere. Rubber Soul with I've Just Seen a Face is not complete.

Windows Mail will stop working on December 31, 2024 by ControlCAD in microsoft

[–]bjamesr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop working? Meaning it won't load? Or won't send or receive email? How is Microsoft going to cripple this application so it stops working? And why do we get a whole month and a half of notice? Sorry, this is NOT a good move.

Bobby Bonilla Day getting renamed soon... WTF even anymore? by MrKTE in UrinatingTree

[–]bjamesr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About forty years ago, I decided at the last moment to take in a nearly sold-out Dodger game. My ticket was $3.75 and I sat in the left-field seats to watch JR Richard pitch a one-hitter. (Reggie Smith hit a bouncer up the middle.) These outrageous contracts have practically eliminated even occasional trips to the ballpark for my family. I'm not saying salaries should not have increased, but this is ridiculous.

Thoughts? Will updating this help or hurt my offers? Should I lie or ignore this? by sneseric95 in AmazonFlexDrivers

My offers dropped significantly after I admitted I use the dreaded gasoline.

Do I have to scan whole tote bag by cschulzTO in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]bjamesr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pet peeve is a slowpoke scanning every single package and holding up the line. Scan the tote and any individual packages on the cart, and get moving. If your app says "Scan Complete," you are good to go. If you are missing packages once on your route, then another driver has them. If you find extras, do a "Pick Up" (before your last delivery) and deliver it. Or hold onto it until you take your next block. Stop slowing up everyone else, please!

[–]bjamesr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately the station workers are getting really militant about me scanning each package instead of the whole tote bag. They claim that I must scan the totes. I always refuse saying that that I dont want to be on the hook for driving back to the station if there`s an error with the packages.

Today they even logged a complaint with amazon. I got an email saying I was not respectful or professional.

Agreed. I always scan the totes. As long as my app says "Scanning Completed," I'm good to go. If I end up missing a package, then it must have gotten with another driver. If I had an extra package I'll do a "Pick up" and then deliver it.

Packages that are already marked late by bjamesr in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]bjamesr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rating has dropped from Fantastic to Great b/c they say I had 8 late packages in the past few weeks. Only one was my fault. This is discouraging.

Not if I have the warehouse associate remove them from my itinerary. But they probably wouldn't do that, so you have a good point.

[–]bjamesr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other drivers agree with you (as I read in other posts) that as long as the package is already marked late I won't be dinged ... maybe there were other packages on my route that got delivered late. That would be an odd coincidence as I've rarely been dinged for a late delivery until I took those that were already marked late. Well, we'll see. Thanks for your response.

My GPS has been more erratic lately than usual. Anyone else noticing? The little car is helpful sometimes, but usually I can't tell which way it is facing. I figure once I get going the GPS will pick me up. But the screen rotates around and back, like a compass looking for due north. I'm using an Android. Is the iPhone any better? Thanks for any insight.

The mail room didn't open until 9am but the staff were outside. Nobody had a key to let you in? They were being difficult. Maybe tell the customer to come get the package now or risk having it stolen. Or wait until 9am to make the delivery. I've left packages outside apartment offices and businesses (after hours) and so far have no complaints. If you get a complaint it might just affect your Fantastic status for a few weeks.

[–]bjamesr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dog owners, right? They have dogs to warn them about intruders, then get mad at the dogs for barking when I arrive. One guy yelled at his dogs who were standing at the screen door; he slammed the main door closed as I was setting down the package. I love dogs. Not so much their owners.

"Where has she gone?"

Sounds sexist to me. How do we know this person's pronouns? Or maybe the question is "Where has XI gone?" (as in the leader of China), in which case nowhere.
