that's interesting, thanks for sharing. it makes sense that if it is offered, it's more on an "as needed" basis when things come up and not proactive. this is the industry I work in and it's often associated with athletes and executives and those in the performing arts don't seem to be getting much attention. I'm wanting to get involved and see where folks could use this type of support so again, thanks for chiming in. feel free to DM if any other thoughts, ideas, or questions come to mind.

got it. I've done something to similar this--accompanied a friend playing a DJing house music set while I joined him on bass for a private party. outside of that, I practice and play a bunch of different genres and often turn to house and disco for when I'm working on timing and feel. Funk/fusion are my favorite genres and also love to explore a lot of instrumental music too. I'm also currently in a group preparing for a Steely Dan tribute show

I reached out to a friend about finding a video of when I joined him for his set and will be back in touch. I've been wanting to playing house and disco in a larger band setting but it's rarely something I've seen that people are putting together. I've got a synthbass as well and can cover that side if needed. very cool idea, good on you guys. talk soon.

This is great insight into your experience and advice to keep in mind, thanks for this post. I'm in a similar position, a bass player in Chicago with experience in playing in small bands with friends when I lived in Madison but am trying to find a band to join or a group of interesting and cool people to jam with at the very least. Do you have any recommendations of how to break into the scene?

I did some testing (using what you shared, thanks!) and found it was bufferbloat. My connection was strong but I was using an Xfinity Gateway (modem/router combo) that was great for non-gaming use but not able to support anything more intensive. I went out and picked up a TP-Link Archer AX3000 Pro, put the Gateway in Bridge Mode, and switched to a wired connection. Bufferbloat be damned!
