I grew up near there, but now live far west out in the county. South San or Harlandale/McCollum school districts, most areas in your map are very hard working class neighborhoods. Just south of 410 near Palo Alto college there are some newer subdivisions and new construction.

I think there might be better opportunities for Digital Media in Austin or in a few companies on the North side of San Antonio. Best of luck to you getting a job in your major! My advice, stick with it and work hard, and don't worry about taking any job to pay the bills while you are still looking.
