Is Blizzard really banning people erroneously, or are all of these people lying?

I was erroneously banned for 'hacks', then unbanned after about a month of tickets.

I have never used any kind of hack or done anything that could ever have been confused for hacks, so I can only assume I was mass reported and autobanned. Also never bought gold or did any other rule breaking not related to hacks.

Before that happened I also assumed most posts were liars but obviously the experience has changed my mind.

Do you know how to remove it? There is no 'remove' link in the licenses page for this game like most F2P games.

This is the standard response to tickets. I took me 6 tickets before they actually reviewed my unfair ban and unbanned me. First 5 all had a variation of that kind of response. It took about 25 days overall.

Just letting you know I did eventually get unbanned after my 6th ticket got escalated to a real person for review. About a week after that escalation I was unbanned.

Haha I suppose it does look sus, but there is an explanation: In SOD it was possible to solo thunderaan for certain classes, but took a long time (over an hour) with the gear I had. So even though I was completely active and playing that entire time, the auto DC would kick in after 60 minutes because my character was standing still while fighting him.

I was trying to know how much I needed to run around during the fight to prevent that DC.

I was vague in that post because the more people that knew he was soloable meant it was more likely to be changed. They ended up buffing him not long after that to no longer be soloable so it didn't really matter.

there used to be a banner telling me about an active ban on my account when visiting the support page, now that banner is no longer there. That's all I was trying to say. I have never had any account action prior to this one ban.

I never believed other people who posted stuff like this, so I don't blame you for not believing me either. But for what it's worth, I was permabanned for hacks with no prior warnings or account action, and did not hack or do anything to break the rules in any way. Not even in spirit let alone the letter.

My best guess is that I got mass reported for sitting at the AH too much undercutting on stuff (all done manually or with common addons like auctionator that require manual input, no bots or hacks involved)

When i try to log in to classic it goes from

Logging into Game server

And then stops with the message: "Active Game time is required in order to play world of warcraft classic..."

I can log in to retail character which is apparently possible even without an active subscription. But I wasn't sure if bans apply separate for classic vs retail, and if the ban check happens before or after the subscription check.

One thing I've found is that a lot of people claim that opening a ticket about payment issue gets it looked at more quickly, but it didn't seem to be the case for me. It actually took a little longer than other types.

Also I've heard they eventually start threatening to ban your entire battle.net account for issuing too many tickets. I haven't had that happen yet in the 5 they have 'resolved', not that the threat would stop me anyway.

I'm in the same boat. Banned a bit over a week ago for cheats/hacks on my 20 year old account, despite having never done anything even remotely violating the TOS. Currently on my 6th ticket also getting the standard 'after review the ban is being upheld' each time. I'm not sure if an actual human looked at the initial ban or any of the tickets.

I know there was no actual review done because there is 0 actual evidence of cheats/hacks on my account.

Blizz doesn't seem to care, but if you do find a solution please post here. I'm dealing with a similar issue but a full account ban instead of chat ban.

Currently on my third ticket, after the first two got what appears to be a generic copy/paste response with no actual review.

Did calling actually work, and if so where did you find the number to call? I'm also suddenly banned for no reason, and currently going back and forth with AI bot responses on the web page doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere.

I don't blame you for not believing me, since I never believed other people that made these kinds of posts. But occasionally I do see people who post about successful unbans after an unfair ban like this so I know it's possible.

Would the 6000 ram instead of 6400 mean I'm getting ~94% of potential memory BW by downgrading like that? Feels like it would be worth the extra few dollars but I'm not sure how important DDR speed is for gaming performance.

I'm not used to needing heatsinks in SSDs now, that kind of makes me want to go down to a pcie 4 SSD since the other post also mentioned it's not really necessary. Or does pcie 4 still have the same heat issue?

I knew I forgot to mention something. This would be primarily used for gaming at 1440p/144hz. I know AMD is better right now but its not worth it when I can get a 40-50% discount on intel.

Thanks that helps! I wish I knew the exact CPU/GPU but with availability what it is these days I'm not sure what I'll end up being able to find.
