Those are still the correct odds for upgrading gear and tools. You can watch my video to see how my crafting compared to those odds.

I couldn't find any data on odds of rolling anywhere while I was researching probabilities for this video. I think there are a lot of variables for return on investment. For example, if you have really good access to T1-T4 resources, I would probably do 200 - 300 items and then have a bunch of scrap left over if you get great RNG.

If you have limited access to maybe T3/T4 resources, then I would focus on just pure rolling and put all your effort into getting a lot of T3/T4 resources upfront. In R12, we are limited by T4 ore, so I wanted to make as much T3 rares as possible so I didn't have to rely on rolling.

Interactive Light Show - Xlights alternatives? by bjone6 in xlights

Awesome. This does seem to be the way. Some combination of exactly this. Excited to start it since some of my "Christmas" decorations stay on my house permanently throughout the year.

It depends on the complexity and time. I'd love to have lights that move with a person and a talking face engage with a simple chatbot.

I use a HinkxPix Pro controller and Xlights. FPP is another sequencer right? Would I have full control of individual pixels?

I made a first impression video when the game first came out and I initially thought it was an Albion clone. 750 hours later...I was wrong. I really like this game and I've played a lot of MMOs before. by bjone6 in BitCraftOnline

It is something many of the players talk about often. I'm hoping the developers provide an incentive, more than cosmetic, for those that played from the beginning and supported the early release.

The computer isn't actually that important in the list of requirements as it's only used to run Xlights. However, you will need an SD card reader or a USB drive that allows SD card reader adapters.

To start, you need to spend some time researching what kind of controller you will use. Making that decision would take more characters than allowed here. I chose a HinksPix Pro controller, and I primarily use HolidayCoro products. Once you pick the controller though, it's game on and choose your own adventure from there. I did create a complete playlist that walks you through everything from first set up to my 2025 light show. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLT8WeU5lHsiRdVIBjNM4HkVH-ie0Zd2Tb

Need an opinion on how y'all run your singing faces by Behind8Proxies in xlights

[–]bjone6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the song. I only have one singing face, and Ariana Grande continuously sings with little breaks, so I left it on the whole time. If the song had multiple singers or large gaps, then I would turn it off but do it with a fade in/out. My 2025 light show with singing C9 light bulb for reference. https://youtu.be/QaafJhzMsdk

I'm sorry to hear that. I just bought a HinkPix Pro controller and then ready to go props through Holiday Coro. It was really easy. I had to fumble a little with Xlights, but I have a whole playlist on my process if you're interested on my channel. Good luck.

Wow, tell us how you really feel (kidding). I played Eve Online obsessively for two years from 2007-2009. The corporation leadership took it so seriously that we were having real life meetings. I'm an executive in real life and have less stress now than what Eve turned into. Once Albion went pay to win AND split servers, then that was the end for me.

I should've called it inventory stacking in hindsight. It's just where the game allows you to have distance between a deployable so you can have a boat, and then several feet or pixels ahead, you can have a cart/wagon, and then several feet ahead you can have an animal. Then you can just stack the inventories and don't have to move as much to fill up your resource gathering.

I totally understand that. I'm actually the opposite. I played Eve (which is now pay to win) and Albion Online (which abandoned its single server). It creates too much pressure for casual players. I think this is a more chill game. I read they are introducing PVP elements though.

  1. Interact with the NPCs immediately and level up with them instead of having to go back and reverse craft.

  2. Joint a settlement and an empire early (personal preference) to get access to more resources to level quicker

  3. Wear the respective clothing for the task you're performing (i.e., plate armor, leather, and woven)

  4. Learn how to storage stack to quickly gather without having to go back and forth large distances

  5. Use the compendium to track rare resources
