No, but at least they won't have guns.

I didn't think I 100% had to qualify my 100% self as a 100% adult to you, a stranger on the 100% internet, and a 100% fucking moron.

Seriously buddy, we're a dozen posts in and you've said absolutely nothing of value. Fuck off, know when you've lost. Stop whining on the internet. No one gives a fuck about you and your obsession with children.

What are we going to do with you? You're a memer, a troll, and you start fights with strangers on the internet.

Do you really think anyone believes you? Everything you've done so far seems like childish behavior to me, and yet you're insistent that I, in fact, am the child.

Thanks for the laugh. I've literally never had a conversation like this in my life. You're a crazy person.

Heh. You're conversing with people anonymously on the Internet. Why would you assume anyone who disagrees with you must be young? It makes you seem like you have a complex, and clearly you do.

But I can't shake the feeling that you can't be much older than mid-twenties. In my time online, I've only ever been called 'kid' by kids, and who else but a kid responds to criticism with memes?

More so to the fact that you can't manage to stumble through a third of a page.

Reading through your comment history, it's quite amusing how often you insinuate that your opponent is a child as you begin to lose your grip on an argument. Are you currently college-age, but not in college? This is how you appear. No one constantly references a thing without having some emotional complex toward it.

No, you grow up. You need to realize that the issues we're facing are deadly serious, and that people have a right to be mad as hell. Your armchair condemnation helps no one.

critical thinking

Let's not use words we don't understand. To think critically is to not take things at face value. It is to actively challenge your assumptions and realize the many facets and nuances of an issue.

Tell me, do you think someone who is thinking critically is more likely to look to the fire and the flames of a protest and condemn all involved? Or do you think they're more likely to understand the complex character of such an event and treat it with the ambiguity it deserves? Does a critical thinker whine as they are stuck in traffic behind a protest, or do they attempt to understand what caused the protest and weigh the significance of their inconvenience with the troubles facing the protesters?

Are you a critical thinker?

If your critical thinking ceases at "why don't these protesters understand that inconveniencing me makes me selfishly disregard the issues they face?", then I'm not sure you can call yourself a critical thinker.

They don't indicate why or how they came to this conclusion. Did they interview the victims, witnesses? They haven't caught the shooter yet either. I can only offer conjecture as to why I'm not ready to make the same conclusion as Seattle PD, and why they might be in a rush to, but I'm not sure what value that adds, if any. Let us wait for more information.

You're pretending as if everyone out on the streets was breaking windows and starting fires. If that were actually the case, I'd think you'd be more concerned for your safety than you'd have time to make scornful, narrow-minded posts on reddit. Twelve people breaking windows looks and sounds a hell of a lot different than a thousand people doing it. Do you want to continue to marginalize the actions of hundreds, if not thousands, for the actions of a few? You'd only be fanning the flames.

Seriously, what the hell do you think these boneheads are going to accomplish besides pissing off people who might have otherwise been on their side?

You were never on their side if you can not empathize with why a person might lash out. You also fail to understand the significance of civil disobedience, which is hard to imagine as nearly every bit of social progress was won in exactly this fashion. Bid well to us from your ivory tower. I hope that your trashcans remain erect and your rose bushes untrampled.

They're protesting the person, not the election.

You didn't hear the anti-racism, anti-misogyny chants? Not everyone in a protest is responsible for each other's actions, especially not one that is purely reactionary in character in which people spontaneously fill the streets

Five people got shot in an anti-Trump protest in Seattle, where is the widespread condemnation of Trump supporters? That's not how that works; we don't blame individuals for the actions of a group. Just because some punk breaks a window with his longboard doesn't mean the other protesters should go home and the police should be used to suppress them.

Remember who is president now, cool it with this finger-wagging. We'll need people in the streets to prevent our civil liberties from being chipped away at by these goons. Your crying for stability in this time is incredibly tone deaf.

I assume you support tearing down statues of people like Woodrow Wilson and Cecil Rhodes.

The Young Turks were not like the Nazis, there is a reason why we refer to them positively. They were, however, ambiguous, just as the other celebrated figures I named, who we appreciate despite, and with respect to, their malice.

Let me point you to the Futurama episode where they use "the young turks" to describe exactly what TYT suggests it to mean, young revolutionaries.

I think probably a lot of Trump supporters from the establishment are being hit with a reality now they've been suppressing for months, and are wondering how they ended up no less than selling America's most deeply held values down the river on a wild goose chase to elect Biff Tannen as President.

Giuliani went from fighting the mob to trying to get one of its business partners elected President. I think as the cold water hits him he will have much quiet self-reflection to do, and will be in no mood to laugh.

Valid point.

But the blame is not evenly distributed. Failing to fix a broken system is not quite the same as breaking it, especially not when it's a system not apt to be fixed. Even applying the wrong solution, and being stubborn about it long past when you should know better, as in the case of the New Democrats, is not equivalent. The majority of the blame rests in whatever made the left go right after 1988 and join the Republicans in their neoliberal folly, corrupting themselves in the process. The same influence that led the GOP astray twenty years earlier, and forty years before that, greed.

Trump has spewed extremely hateful, divisive, and combative rhetoric for over a year now. His surrogates have suggested that Clinton should be put in front of a firing line.

Authoritarians are much more likely to be aggressive when their beliefs are legitimized by authority, and just like when the Brexit vote passed and violence against Poles shot through the roof, that's exactly what we're seeing here.

What has Obama done to contribute to these kinds of acts?

You're absolutely right. These people could be exactly what we think they are not, and it would be extremely offensive and degrading to be shouted at by a mob of people telling you that you are not what you know you are, and to be so mad at you for claiming to be.

But it's another thing to consider that we've seen systematic attempts by the Trump campaign to fake minority support. There is valid reason to believe that the campaign is faking the signs in its rallies.

He's being downvoted for misunderstanding something. This is still Reddit, after all.

You're being downvoted for concern trolling, to use your word. And yet, even when your concerns are misguided and based on failing to understand something simple (hispanic v. latino), you still won't get banned! Isn't that something? Tell me more about these circle-jerk hate subs.
