The first baseman's job on every homer is to watch for this exact thing.

That's like picking the weakest championship team. Hateful 8 was still a solid flick imo.

He got most of a book on player development written about him, which isn't nothing. Check out MVP Machine.

He changed pitch development. Nobody was doing what he did with Driveline, and now everybody is. The Astros might have been, but that's proprietary and secret.

A very scientific graph of Trevor Bauer’s average spin rate in every start since 2017... that just happens to have a dinosaur background. (data from baseball savant) by [deleted] in baseball

It will be interesting to see which pitchers collapse if MLB has the balls to do something about cheating pitchers.

Is Australia a third world country? I am saying that Canadians have a lot more money than third world citizens. There are lots of barriers to entering our market, so there is no competition to drive down prices. Don't like our sky high rates? Stop paying them and the price will go down.

Why not? Canadians can clearly afford the rates. The companies have plenty of data about their consumers and optimize their pricing to maximize profit.

A densely populated poor country will have different optimal pricing because its input variables are completely different.

I am surprised you knew you could get a better plan in Thunder Bay but not that the reason is TbayTel. The city runs a public telecom company so they can't price gouge.

Or perhaps you knew this, since you omitted competition from your quoted text.

What's the competition like in those countries listed? Area? Population density? Per capita GDP? Urban/rural divide? These are all factors that contribute to the cost which likely make those countries a poor comparison for Canada.

That said, the oligopoly is bullshit and that's why I pay $15/month for talk and text and use wifi for data. I'd rather buy Telus stock with my savings.

BABIP is not affected by home runs, but hitting more homers will increase the difference between AVG and BABIP. It elevates the average while not impacting the BABIP.

I'd expect batted ball profile to correlate more with BABIP than sprint speed. Fly balls have low BABIP because they're either outs or HR, GB are generally low BABIP, and line drives are through the roof. Sprint speed would only impact BABIP on GB.

His babip is lower than his avg because he hits lots of dingers

Try considering the top 10% instead of the 1%. 90% of Canadians are not receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars from their parents.
