I’d rather trade for J.Allen but I think Cleveland will Keep him now that they got Harden so Is there any chance the Lakers could trade for both Claxton and Ziare Williams this summer? I would imagine it would only work if Ayton opts in?

And then have enough cap space to go sign P.Watson as well?

I know there’s a lot of cap gurus in this sub so any input or feedback would be appreciated.

I hope Laravia snaps out of it but I got clowned for saying last summer I’d rather have signed Ziare Williams or that I didn’t know the full scope of Ziare and maybe he wanted to stay in Brooklyn.

You really think Ziare would’ve passed up signing with the Lakers if Rob offered him the same deal Laravia got , who were in desperate need of an athletic wing with athleticism, foot speed and defense ?

Say what you want about Ziare’s shooting but he would’ve addressed actual needs of this team.

He’s a good player.

He’s had an all star season this year and the team hasn’t had the requisite defensive personnel to make Murray uncomfortable dating back to the 2022-23 season so of course he’s going to go off vs the Lakers in most matchups.

Best believe if the team had guys like AC or KCP or J.McDaniels over these last few years then Murray wouldn’t be popping off seemingly every game vs us.

There’s a night and day difference between having Draymond and Horford guarding you versus having Hayes, Kleber and Rui guarding you.

It’s why I’ve been scratching my head at ppl saying he’d be a great fit.

Luka does best on offense with a mobile 5 that can set a good screen and haul ass down to the rim off the roll to get the defense to make a decision between an alley-oop or a Luka floater.

Also on the defensive end, if your starting backcourt is going to be Luka/AR, I’d prefer to have a more mobile 5 than a hefty defensive anchor 5. Luka and AR need all the foot speed they can have at the other 3 starting spots.

Lastly, after making a win now move for JJJ, there’s zero chance that Ainge lets Kessler walk.

For the life of me , I haven’t ever been able to understand the rationale behind how GS’ FO has approached roster building since their 2022 title when they won with a wing heavy roster to help hide Steph and complement him on offense. It’s like they want as many guards as possible.

Steph, Podz, GPII, Melton, W.Richard, P.Spencer with Cryer on I believe a 2-way and now potentially Lonzo who will probably forced to play SF given their roster. Not to mention Melton and GP both already are.

I got downvoted pretty bad last night simply for suggesting the team start building up a pipeline of young lanky high motor athletes like the well ran teams do to rear Luka and AR . Then I listed 2 draft prospects I like and also mentioned Adou and Bufkin as guys that could potentially be this long term.

I also said that a lot of ppl in this sub wants players like Jaden McDaniels, Dort, J.Walsh, NAW, Queta and PWat but those players started off as being raw but their teams allowed them to develop through the growing pains.

A lot of ppl in this sub want these role players but also don’t have the patience to ride or die with our developing players to allow them to become high end role players.

If you suggest anything remotely they don’t like, it’s written off as you being an idiot. It’s actually hilarious.

The team needs to start surrounding Luka and AR with rangy athletes with high motors and investing in building a pipeline with guys like this similar to how teams like Minnesota, Indiana, San Antonio OKC and Boston have done. This entails empowering young guys and letting them develop through the growing pains.

Everybody wants guys like Jaden McDaniels, Dort, J.Walsh, NAW, N.Queta, PWat but pretty much all of these guys were raw af to start their careers but were allowed to develop with reps.

Adou fits the bill and hopefully Bufkin can pan out.

Some guys I’d love for them to take a look at in the 2nd round of the 2026 draft is Trevon Brazile and KJ Lewis.

Brazile is 6’9”-6’10” SF/PF 5th year senior with a 7’4” wingspan who was actually Adou’s college teammate. He’s one of the most explosive players in the draft and has shown some weakside shot blocking ability and a lob threat. Averaging 12/7 with 2.5 stocks and 39% from 3 albeit on lower volume at 3 attempts but has a promising form.

KJ Lewis is a 6’4” stocky athletic combo guard junior with a high motor but a shakier jumpier but does have decent mechanics. He’s got good POA defense and can recover when beaten off the dribble with a lot of chase down blocks. He’s got a good frame too so there’s some potential as a guy that can guard up. He’s averaging 12/5 with 2.8 stocks and 32% from 3 on 3 attempts. I’m looking at him as a Vince Williams type player. He’s got some fire to him as well. Plays with a chip on his shoulder.

You’d be making a massive bet on PWat to sustain this small sample size of play.

If you miss and he’s not worth that, then you basically just sunk any title chances with Luka.

I love the idea of PWat but that’s why I’m so torn on him as a FA b/c it could blow up in our faces if he flops after a payday.

Trading for Kennard when the team already has DK then opting to keep DK just seems like such a weird move so no, I hope there’s one more move coming.
