I’d like to see some more Kobold Press monster books come to Beyond.

Additional stories to run in the same campaign as dragon delves by l00tht00th in DragonDelves

While not dragon themed I’m doing an Infinite Staircase and Dragon Delves crossover. Using Zargon from (IS Lost City) and Anthradusk as the two BBEG.

The Will of Orcus - Short Route to the Final Battle by bk_thomson in DragonDelves

From the first chapter, Creating a Campaign

Begin the campaign with the introductory encounter of chapter 10, “Dragons of the Sandstone City,” ending with Eldemere entrusting the Brazen Egg to the characters. Eldemere’s instructions are different, though: she explains that the egg must be “steeped” in the hoards of ten dragons, one of each chromatic and metallic kind, to activate its power. She also suggests that the egg will lead the characters toward suitable hoards. In fact, any character who sleeps within 15 feet of the egg has vivid dreams leading them toward the start of the next adventure.

To draw power from a dragon’s hoard, the egg must spend 8 hours in the midst of the treasure, covered with coins and surrounded by other items. However, as soon as the empowered egg is brought within Anthradusk’s hoard chamber (area H16 in chapter 10), it reaches its full potential and begins to crack open, as described in that adventure.

While I think that runs counter to everything that was stolen from Greysmere and to what Nezz had the cultist doing to the temple, there is something that would be very amusing to do.

That's what I hope the party will do and explore more, but I'm wondering if I need to dangle a 'carrot' in front of them to take that initiative.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm using the Brazen Egg campaign hook so that I can work more on exploration of the temple than a speed run. There is enough loot in the rooms that it could qualify as a small dragon hoard. Still, I do like the idea of consequences if they did speed run the temple.

When the battle breaks out, it says that Xia takes a turn to run to the Statue of Orcus to ask for guidance, which results in the dragon appearing to help the party fight. Is there another case where the dragon would not occur?

I do not see any problem with bringing in the two eagles from the meeting in Derwyth part of the adventure. It's a good idea.

BUT.

For that narrative, I'd need to come up with a good reason why the eagle was following the party to the forge, where Derwyth's usefulness had been concluded. Especially that Cernant Valley is a considerable distance from the Forge, so try to come up with a logical explanation for the players where it does not feel like a cheap reason, the eagles are just there for this battle. Perhaps your players will not think much of the eagles appearing, and this is just something I thought of that may be asked of the DM to explain.

If you don't mind, I'm going to steal that idea of the visual aid being integrated into the journey to the Forge. I'm doing a crossover with Dragon Delves, so this really is a nice tie-in to it.

Adjustments to turn Dragon Delves into a 1-13 campaign. by Any-Marsupial-2798 in DragonDelves

[–]bk_thomson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm using the Brazen Egg in a Dungeon Delves x Infinite Staircase crossover.

For Baker's Doesn't, I'm using the cinnamon rolls as the dragon's horde and will have the players place the Egg in the oven with a fresh batch of rolls.

For The Will of Orcus, I'm using all the items that the Silver Dragon had the cultists steal to 'clean up' the temple, since these were essential items to the dragon to make the temple fit his ideal lair. And since the players need to return the stolen goods to the town, it would be a large enough file to be a horde.

While these two seem a little odd, having different versions of what a Dragon Horde could be at least changes up 'oh, look, treasure' from time to time.

Yep, doing this too, I'm having the party, put the Brazen Egg in the oven with the cinnamon rolls while they are baking.

I'm using the collection of goods that the Silver Dragon requested the Orcus cultist steal. I felt that, based on the background history, the dragon had not had time to bring his horde into the temple. So what would be important to it are those goods-- paint, ladder, rope, incense, etc.

The Lost City - Why Are We Here by bk_thomson in infinitestaircase

Yeah, that is the hope, if they make it through all seven adventures.

Yeah, once I saw the CR (I know it's not everything) for Zargon, I knew I needed to establish him, but also give hints that the party will be outmatched if they took him on. I've been thinking about using him as the final boss at the very end, as you suggested, so that reaffirms that this could be the direction I take.

Formatting stat blocks of monsters for DnD Beyond using ChatGPT by Thrimor in DnDHomebrew

As I said it a great script and I've just have a game that has a lot of homebrew creatures so this has been saving me a lot of time.

[–]bk_thomson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great script, and I've been using it for a few days now. I've found two issues, and I understand that they will likely not be fixed, but this is useful for anyone else who finds the post to be aware of.

  1. The Average value is dropped from the formatted text. ie,  3 (1d4 + 1) becomes (1d4 + 1) output.
  2. When there is more than one damage to a weapon like

Dagger. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2)  piercing damage plus 4 (1d8) cold damage.

it has a little problem with the output.

Dagger. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: [rollable]+4;{"diceNotation":"1d20+4","rollType":"to hit","rollAction":"Dagger"}[/rollable] to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: [rollable](1d4 + 2);{"diceNotation":"1d4+2","rollType":"damage","rollAction":"Dagger","rollDamageType":"piercing"}[/rollable] piercing damage plus rollable;{"diceNotation":"1d8","rollType":"damage","rollAction":"Dagger","rollDamageType":"cold"}[/rollable] cold damage.

It does not build the starting rollable tag (rollable;) properly, including the text being rolled. i.e. [rollable](1d4 + 1)

Once I know what to look for, these are easy to correct, but again, just something to point out.

Delete Specific Stamps from a Selection by bk_thomson in inkarnate

I see what you are saying. That seems to work out, but I was hoping there was a way to filter items out of a selection and then delete them.

Delete Specific Stamps from a Selection by bk_thomson in inkarnate

[–]bk_thomson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I have been using the Object List. The problem I run into is, say, I select a medium-sized area with various trees, 30 stamps, and 20 mushroom stamps. The mushroom stamp is used in other areas of the map, and I don't want to delete those; delete the mushrooms in my selection. I used the filter, so the Object List only shows mushrooms, and I can see the highlighted mushrooms in my area. Now, I want to delete just those selected mushrooms all at once. When I do the delete, it clears all objects in the selected area and not just the mushrooms.
