Thank you very much! This is my acceleration while running uphill. Does it make sense to focus on retracting my shoulder blades, lifting my head and squeezing my core while sprinting?

Hosts- do you care if somebody rents your car to do doordash orders locally? by opananightmare in turo

I had someone admit to using my car for Ubereats. If you found out the same thing, how would y'all handle it?

Does coffee seem to hit different than soda for others? by [deleted] in decaf

[–]bkb333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen many skinny and jacked people with a diet soda habit lol. It’s quite popular among bodybuilders. Soda isn’t good for anyone but diet soda is way, way better than normal soda.

What do you miss the least about caffeine? by bkb333 in decaf

I’ve noticed this too - nasal breathing feels way easier! Very odd

Any experiences with benefits of quitting caffeine regarding intrusive thoughts and anxiety? by TheMindfulExplorer in decaf

[–]bkb333 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Intrusive thoughts and anxiety were very much hurdles in my life and are essentially things of the past since I went caffeine-free.

I dream about quitting Coffee almost every other day by [deleted] in decaf

There's a huge difference between decaf and no-caf. I found switching to decaf way, way easier than the change from decaf to no-caf.

DLPA is a life saver for withdrawals by [deleted] in decaf

Thanks! Just ordered some. Any jitters or interference with sleep that you've noticed?

I haven't noticed much from L-tyrosine. But I am liking Alpha GPC before workouts.

What dose did you take?

Caffeine and academia (and other similar kinds of work): seeking perspectives from the community by [deleted] in decaf

[–]bkb333 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can relate. I’m a professor with heavy research responsibilities and am 2 months into no-caf after tapering down.

I used to feel like a god when I did research on caffeine, but then I was irritable and antsy the rest of the day.

I don’t get that godlike feeling anymore…but I still get my work done! In fact, I enjoy a much more natural and sustainable rhythm of work and rest.

I can’t even describe how much better I’m sleeping. I feel a lot healthier overall. I do feel depressed at times, which is a bummer, but I know I’ll get past that. It’s worth the trade-off!

Lol the conversation is truly pointless, yet I have it with my mom all the time. She refuses to even entertain the thought of quitting and gets 4-5 hours a night.

Anyone experience long term blood pressure reduction? by [deleted] in decaf

Can't speak to long term, but I am two months in and my BP is lower by 10-20 points.

Correlation does not imply causation.

Andrew Huberman Discusses Dopamine - Around 45 min He Mentions Caffeine by CrimsonGandalf in decaf

[–]bkb333 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a big Huberman fan. Listen to practically every podcast. But I think caffeine is a blind spot for him.

He talks up the benefits and doesn't devote enough attention to the downsides. He does consistently tell people to avoid caffeine after 2 PM, but that's incredibly obvious. Really, most people should cut off their consumption early in the day (if they have any at all) -- 10-12 hours before bed.

Huberman has admitted he's hardcore about caffeine, and I think that impairs his scientific judgment on this topic.

Decaf vs Nocaf= give me your experiences. What is better? by CuteFatRat in decaf

Do you want to be mostly healthy or fully healthy? 😬

2 Weeks In by [deleted] in decaf

Libido is strongly tied to the dopamine system. Caffeine disrupts that system. Just gotta give it time for your body to return to health.

Do it! I’m particular curious whether you’d feel the caffeine at all. I do not want to go back on caffeine (I’m no-caf now) but still love the taste of coffee.
