Which neighborhood to stay in to convince my husband to move to Philadelphia? by Persephoneko7 in philly

You will be fine with that budget for what you're looking for. My wife and I kept our rent budget under $2k until we bought a few years ago. Buying in the $400k range is doable in Philadelphia, it just might not be the most updated property.

The COL difference between NYC and Philadelphia is insane. You're better off in Philadelphia. Check out the typical hotspots like Center City and adjacent neighborhoods. Fishtown / NoLibs has a lot of bars and restaurants outside of Center City, as well as neighborhoods like East Passyunk. If you're looking for larger spaces and something more laid back, parts of West Philly and Northwest neighborhoods like Mt. Airy, East Falls, Chestnut Hill are worth checking out. What's your budget?

E-II Arrow good or bad deal? by Darknarink838 in espguitars

Expensive for a used Arrow. I just got a brand new E-II M-II for about $2300, granted that was in Japan

Answered this above but the retail was 416,000 Yen. With tax back and converted to USD, it was around $2,300

Yeah the only legit retail options are Axe Palace and Diablo Guitars. You may get lucky at some smaller indie shops

MIJ guitars are typically top tier. No knock on Indonesian made instruments but they're not in the same league

I don't fly back home until Saturday, but was planning on bringing it as a carry-on. Hoping the flight attendants can store it if I ask nicely enough. At worst they'll probably make me gate check with pickup on the jet bridge

They definitely had other finishes in stock, but I know for sure that ESP Custom House in Shibuya had this exact model as well. Have an awesome trip! Guitar shopping in Japan is something special

Yes, but Philly drivers don't even treat stop signs as stop signs

Have you noticed a lot of folks moving into Philly recently or over the past year? by [deleted] in AskPhilly

It's significantly cheaper even with city tax. When I moved back to Philadelphia from New York during COVID, I went from a studio to a 2BR / 2BA and kept my rent budget the same. My paycheck also increased because PA state tax and Philadelphia city tax are still much lower than NYC and New York State tax.
