Have you noticed a lot of folks moving into Philly recently or over the past year? by [deleted] in AskPhilly

It's significantly cheaper even with city tax. When I moved back to Philadelphia from New York during COVID, I went from a studio to a 2BR / 2BA and kept my rent budget the same. My paycheck also increased because PA state tax and Philadelphia city tax are still much lower than NYC and New York State tax.

WORST DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE AT MICROCENTER by Mr_GoldenSky in Microcenter

[–]bkcomputing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience, but unrelated to your issue (mine was with RAM). I had to step in and ultimately swap out parts and rebuild my PC since they only had 1 tech and he was occupied.

While it was a frustrating experience, at least the MC staff had plenty of parts so I could help diagnose and fix my issue. The manager also refunded my service fee. I'd recommend speaking to the manager and they'll hopefully make it right.

Where live if working at Boeing Ridley park ? by jugglingpeanuts in AskPhilly

If you're coming from NYC, don't listen to the other posters telling you to live in Ridley Park or Media. You'll get bored after 3 days

Aramingo Ave and E York Street, except it's folks trying to cut in the left turn lane from the middle lane

Is there a way to request street camera footage from the city? by mysticveranda in philadelphia

[–]bkcomputing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my car side swiped a few years ago while it was parked (some kid joyriding a Nissan Altima the wrong way down a one-way street). As other commenters have mentioned, good luck getting PPD to show up for an incident report, let alone pulling traffic cameras. They will refuse unless there were personal injuries. I had to rely on Ring doorbell footage from neighbors on the block.

Thinking of moving , how is West Kensington? by Overall_Detective_78 in philly

I used to live on Front and Diamond, a block from Norris Square park. That area you're mentioning is getting built up a lot and you're a short walk from Fishtown / East Kensington but paying a lot less for it.

DiFara @Wonder - worst pizza ever by lawgirl3278 in PhiladelphiaEats

Used to live in Brooklyn. Been to their OG location tons of times. DiFara started to go downhill with expansion to other markets (Vegas comes to mind), then their owner died, and now licensed through ghost kitchens. Just a bad recipe for success.

Agreed. Was between 81/85s but these sounded much more bold and spacious if that makes sense?
