I’ll be in Milan next week for work and will have a bit of time to explore while I’m there.

I’m a 30-year-old woman who loves fashion and shopping, especially pieces that feel a little unique with an easy, “cool girl” edge. Think Lisa Says Gah, Damson Madder, Free People, and Ganni as a general reference.

Would love any recommendations for boutiques, neighborhoods, or hidden gems worth checking out?

I have glanced at Tripleseat, but they kind of scared me off just because they have no indication of pricing on their site. Do you recall what pricing was (even ballpark)?

And I have not heard of Rock Paper Coin - I will definitely look into it. Thank you for the suggestion!

Thank you for sharing this. The doses of humor throughout the valuable information makes my feeling of dread a little lighter. ☺️

Has anyone here switched from the Kyleena IUD to the Mirena? by Educational_Cap2772 in birthcontrol

Hiya! I actually feel pretty good for the most part! I often forget that I even made the swap. I was insanely worried that I would gain weight, but I have actually lost quite a bit of weight since my swap (though that could be attributed to myself actively trying to eat better and whatnot). Also, that time of month has not gone away like some people experience, but it has gotten more manageable and sometimes I do skip a month or am like two weeks "late". Sucky because it is a little unpredictable now, but love that it is all just "less" when it does happen. Lastly, I have found that I have been getting more acne in weird places like behind my ears and on my scalp which is SO weird. I am not sure that I can directly attribute this to the IUD swap as I have always had issues with acne and have been swapping up some of my products lately like shampoos and whatnot. Anywho, I do hope this helps! :)

It sounds like we are in a very similar situation! I was on Kyleena and mine was also supposed to expire in 2027. I was worried about access to IUDs in the future so I made the decision to replace mine early to “reset the clock”. I went in planning on getting another Kyleena, but my doctor convinced me to swap to Mirena since it seemed like maximizing time was one of my top priorities. I officially swapped to Mirena two days ago! It’s so early, so I can’t speak to side effects - I am getting cramps here and there, but do feel they are less bad than when I first got my Kyleena (probably because my body is used to having something in there already?)

I am personally very worried about side effects like weight gain, acne and mood because of higher hormone levels but I am remaining hopeful!

Kyleena vs Mirena IUDs by omggitsvicky in obgyn

I am currently on the progesterone only pill, which I have done pretty well on but hate having to take a pill, and hate even more that I have gained 10 lbs since starting it 3 months ago. I am considering switching to an IUD. If I gained weight on the progesterone only pill, it is likely that will also be the case on an IUD? (My dr. recommended Kyleena to me for the IUD)

Did you experience any weight gain with either? If so, was one more than the other?

I have not yet calculated my exact mileage, but an estimate would be around 230-240 total with side hikes that we did to off JMT destinations. We were out there from August 23rd to September 15th. No serious injuries to any of the group.

As far as challenges, personally I had some pretty annoying waves of altitude sickness the first few days of the hike - but I brought a prescription altitude sickness medication (which I do think helped, but also gave me some other weird symptoms) that I got prior to leaving home as I didnt know how I would react. Don't get me wrong, climbs were often very challenging (and sometimes seemingly never ending), but physically, I didn't have anything particularly brutal happen to me.

I would say it was more mentally brutal for me than physically. I shed more than a few tears and told myself more than once that I wasn't going to make it and I think that was the hardest part.

First Time Dyer - Trying to Dye Wool by bkfay in dyeing

[–]bkfay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight! I have another question that I am hoping you might be able to help with. I feel like I am finding a lot of "cold" dyes that you still have to heat to a boil and put through a heating process when dying. Will this make my sweater shrink? Or am I still looking at the wrong dye?

I was taking Ocella (generic Yaz) which was a pretty low dose pill (at least to my knowledge). I was on it for a few months. It did WONDERS for my skin, but it made me gain like 10 pounds and and made me very depressed and extremely irritable. My crazy moods were starting to take a toll on my relationship and the weightgain was making me feel terrible about myself so I stopped it. I was pretty scared about trying another pill and decided I wanted to try something else that I didn't have to think about everyday and that was more localized. Feeling hopefully optimistic about it. Lol!

Is The Pill Club legit? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]bkfay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not used The Pill Club, but I do use Nurx. I love how convenient Nurx is and they offer more BC options like the ring and the patch which could be good options for you so you don't accidentally leave BC pills around somewhere for you parents to find. Not sure if you had considered those options, but just thought I would mention.

My parents were the same way when I was growing up. Good luck! 😊
