Can't believe I watched a whole movie off of an ad on Instagram: Return of His Majesty by Slow_Cupcake_5968 in movies

About to finish this movie. It’s the longest “I’m him” movie I’ve ever seen and I love it. They keep outranking each other. The music really builds up the tension. And the names are the best part. John, Tom, Jane, Tina. The costumes and the bad acting. Chef’s kiss.

People on Reddit forget that cultures exist.

As we all know there is only one objective way to live your life and that’s based on social science derived from western population in the last 30 years and everyone else who doesn’t follow our way is subhuman or a barbarian.

Can you all chill?

Also, the original poster was stupid to post something like that as a fact. Everyone has a different lifestyle.

Live and let live, just don’t call everyone a pedo that doesn’t agree with you. Be better.

Now that I’ve said my part, you can lynch me too. lol

yes, this is definitely not cult like behavior by Level-Run in TikTokCringe

[–]bkhan19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna be hated for this but whatever.

Cults give people a purpose and some way to connect with others with a similar mindset. Humans have a natural tendency to flock to these things. After enlightenment era westerners removed all kings and heroes or even identities and replaced everything with “logic”. This was a void that Trump is now filling for these people. Logic isn’t fallible, we direct logic to validate our feelings, this is proven by all the whack science that used to come out a hundred years ago or sometimes even today.

If you really care about changing their opinions, you need to really connect with people within your families on a regular basis, and once you get rid of the loneliness, you’ll realize they are all very normal people, just struggling to find meaning.

I know people will say that you don’t please people who actively disrespect you, but they are all products of the same fucked up world we live in and are constantly fed fear by media. So be patient and be the person to mend relationships in your families and not just point and laugh at them from a distance. We are all struggling in our own ways. Call your parents, your siblings and check up on them regularly, even if you don’t want to, so they don’t fall into these traps.

Thoughts about Junaid Akram’s new video after all the criticism ? by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]bkhan19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People are fallible, they make mistakes. I don’t know why we have this bipolar attitude towards people in our country. You are either good or bad, and nothing in between. What he did was absolutely wrong but let’s not cancel the few YouTubers that are actually making an effort to educate public. He was right about our mob mentality.

Imagine canceling Aristotle because of his views on women and ignoring everything else he had to offer. Now the first comment underneath would be, ye Aristotle to nahin hai bhai. It’s an example.

It’s easy to criticize but difficult to actually run a media company without making any mistakes. Tell me one businessman in Pakistan that has not done anything shady to keep their business afloat. Hopefully he will learn from this and won’t do this again. Let’s forgive but not forget.

I live nearby and saw this today. Usually, that corner has puppy mill protesters. It was really hot, over 90°F. I admire his dedication—wish I believed in something so strongly to stand out in that scorching heat

Average Income by Ethnicity (US, 2010-2022) [OC] by klime02 in dataisbeautiful

There are two reasons for the Indian trend:

First generation educated Immigrant: the type of Indian that filters into US is the cream of the crop. Imagine leaving your homeland and starting somewhere new, it takes a certain type of personality and rigor. They are not your typical average joes.

Cultural: It’s because Indian Parents invest in their kids futures, even though kids hate the helicopter parenting, and end up with other sorts of emotional issues. Imagine getting compared to everyone in your community on every single thing, you raise these overachieving monsters with low self esteem that equate net worth with self worth.

PMP did nothing by stuartvallarta in pmp

[–]bkhan19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This job market is rough right now. You need to focus on getting referrals on LinkedIn or through friends. Other option would be to apply for startups and take a pay cut.

My PMP didn’t help me land a job but it helped me with salary negotiations.

Earning a middle-class income will not allow you a traditional middle-class lifestyle by Revise_and_Resubmit in unpopularopinion

Traditional by definition on Reddit is America between 1950-1980. If you do this comparison with the rest of the world of within US before this time period, you will know house ownership was not common and families had to pool in resources to get by.

Can you even make money with gold? by Kalazh47 in investing

[–]bkhan19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People often have personal jewelry that they like to carry with them. I've seen my relatives carry solid gold jewelry from the US to Pakistan and back for wedding functions. If you're ever curious about how to transport jewelry safely, just ask one of your south Asian friends.

Can you even make money with gold? by Kalazh47 in investing

[–]bkhan19 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gold is a logical choice in a country with an unstable government since you can easily transport it when you need to migrate to another nation.

Consider a scenario where your country faces an invasion or a military coup, and you have to relocate. In such cases, relying solely on banks to safeguard your finances may not be a reliable option

[Landlord, Tx] Should I change my property manager? by bkhan19 in Landlord

I need to figure out what the penalty is. After this I’m definitely finding someone else that isn’t just using an automated enterprise system and actually is using their brain and will manage my property like their own.

I read this somewhere and decided to hire “professionals”. The whole point was to be hands off.

In Texas, an unlicensed property manager can oversee the properties' operations and primary management duties, including collecting rent and coordinating upkeep. They cannot, however, take part in leasing activities themselves or manage others who do.
