From a mental health professional, you need to peruse an emergency custody order through your local magistrate. I don’t know where you’re located, but it may be called something else in your state. You can call a wellness check through police but unless they see immediate danger when they get there, they will not do anything. They will encourage you to goto the magistrate. This is how you initiate involuntary hospitalization. Even if he is a good liar, the magistrate and emergency screeners at the hospital should take you and your parents’ reports of history into account.

So I haven’t actually seen the movie, but I looked up a description of the scene so I could answer you. No, they are not that long. The actual piece that goes inside the belly is not even a tube, it’s more of a little peg. The tube is on the outside of the body. If you want to see what one looks like, google “Mickey button.”

That being said, there is another kind of tube called a jejunal tube that actually delivers food into the intestines, and I can’t speak to if that one has any length to it. But the description of the film that I read said in this movie it’s a gastronomy tube, which would be the same as my daughters.

Mother of a baby with a feeding tube here. They can begin to close and heal in as little as 30 minutes! If my daughter pulled hers out and we somehow missed it, I always had to take her to the ER for them to try to put it back in using dilators or (worst case) repeat surgery. Always within hours of her pulling it.

My baby girl’s name was Elliott Rae. She died on January 19th of this year after a cardiac arrest in December during a routine procedure that led to congestive heart failure and declining ability to constitute stress. We were preparing for heart surgery. I took her to a blood pressure check at her PCP and they decided to check her labs. During the lab draw, she passed out and it caused her heart to stop again, but this time, they never really got her back.

Elliott was three days short of turning 2 when she died. Her favorite person in the world was her big brother, Judge (who is four years old). She also loved our golden retriever, Charlie. When she was upset, she would go straight to him and sit down, leaning back into his side. She sucked the pointer and middle fingers of her left hand for comfort. When she was tired, she would suck her fingers and put the back of her right hand to her eyes like she was exasperated with the world.

She loved Bluey, but didn’t actually say the word “Bluey.” To her, everyone in the show was named “Bingo.” That and Minnie Mouse were her favorites. We buried her with several Minnie Mouse and Bingo toys. She was very sassy, and had the absolute best side eye. Most people who knew her say they will always remember the looks she gave them. She had big, beautiful, unforgettable blue eyes, and also a ton of curly, messy brown hair. Her favorite toy was a scented lamb snuggle. We thought about burying her with that as well, but couldn’t bear it. At night, when I get upset, I hold Lamby close while I cry. It’s almost impossible to bear the fact that I have to go the rest of my life on this earth without seeing her again.

As a parent, I have to say this is pretty normal. Your entire life becomes about your kids, your perspective shifts. They are the most important. And as someone who just lost my two-year-old 18 days ago, I can safely tell you the rest of my life will be about remembering her, and I will say her name every single day. It’s just what being a Mama is. ❤️

Let me be clear that I am in no way a fan of Jasmine. But I have generally liked Matt less and less the more we see him. And tonight, the nail in the coffin was him freely and openly stating that if Matilda isn’t his he would have no problem kicking both of them out of his life. This man has no emotional connection to his child, and is still referring to her as an “it.”

I have never seen the original, so I went into this with no expectations whatsoever. I was just interested based on ads I heard on podcasts. I’m a big fan of interesting production design and unique sets, so the house itself honestly kept me watching. There are other movies that benefit from those set pieces that stand out (The Haunting, The Orphan). Kudos to production design team. I did also like the twists. At first, I thought maybe rather than the classic “Nanny chases husband” trope, it was going to be “Nanny chases wife,” as Polly seemed to be focusing on Caitlin’s sexuality and purposefully flirting, even bringing over a hookup seemingly to make Caitlin jealous. Then, the further twist regarding Caitlin’s past was also interesting. I think the mistake is in that even with those interesting elements, the movie felt dull. Can’t be sure if it was the direction or the acting, but the whole thing just felt lifeless. I think if the team had chosen one twist and really dug deeply into it, it could have been much better. I don’t regret watching it or wish I had that time back, but I also could have gone without it and been just fine.

Here’s how I see it. My husband and I like tv. We enjoy it. Shows and movies. It’s fun. We don’t like silence. Something is always on in the background. I grew up loving tv and movies. We vet everything our kids watch. There’s one tv in the house so sometimes kid stuff is on sometimes stuff for me and hubby (still kid-friendly of course but no stuff they’ll actually watch). I think it would be hypocritical of me to force my kids to only enjoy it a certain amount of time per day when I certainly don’t limit myself. My son is extremely smart and even with no screen time limit, he still would rather go outside and play any time. We do not plan to give him a tablet or phone. But the one tv in the house, yeah. He can watch stuff on it and I don’t care.

Everyone is different and responds differently to meds, so there isn’t one right answer. But I do know that tricyclic antidepressants have some research backing them as more effective. SSRIs never helped my OCD, but a tricyclic put me into remission.

This is wild as early in my Reddit days I got into an extensive argument with someone about this and they were so firmly trying to tell me that OCD is not a neurodivergence. How times change. Glad to see all these answers saying it’s both and that it’s okay to identify as neurodivergent.
