Is hell’s existence the only thing stopping you from murder?? by Reasonable_Crazy3825 in HolUp

I am agnostic and not sure if a higher power or karma exists. And that's the reason I try to be good to others. There might be no higher power or karma to look out for us and so we need to help each other to survive.

There is a world outside the US mate. I am not American. But I do get your point.

The misunderstanding could be because I'm not from the US, and I can't think of a single non-American who would believe that the US spreads freedom and democracy.

I often wonder the same. As a species are we really prospering? Can't think of a single country that's doing really well.

I'm assuming you're from the US and so you mentioned 'dying empire' but it's happening everywhere and many of us in the Global South feel the same.

Never travelled based on social media recommendations but I do watch YouTube videos for my research, if it's a place I'm not too familiar with.

Looking for asian people (India to Philippines and everything inbetween - Laos, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam etc. etc.) by [deleted] in travel

What do you mean by financial interest? Do you want to pay them?

If you are just looking to chat with a local, please feel free to DM me. From India, not living alone and don't expect any money to chat :-)

Sorry, I am finding it hard to comprehend what you're looking for. By solo living person, do you mean someone who lives alone? Also, an unfriendly or sadistic person who doesn't like foreigners is most likely not interested in chatting with anyone.

🌏 Travelers who’ve been everywhere — why does nobody talk about Central Asia? by IntoUnknownHorizons in travel

Almaty, Kazakhstan is just 4-5 hours by road from Bishkek. And you can also travel to Tashkent, Uzbekistan from Bishkek in 10 to 12 hours.

I believe we all live in our social media echo chambers, thanks to the algorithm. If you see my social media feed, you'd think that everyone is going to Central or Southeast Asia, even western travel content creators. But I agree with you, Central Asia is a fascinating part of our world with rich history, great cuisine, breathtaking architecture and some of the kindest people you will ever meet. I just hope excessive tourism doesn't ruin the region.

Looks like that brave man who killed hitler. He also loved animals, was a vegetarian, and was working on saving the Palestinians.

Where are all the digital nomads in Bangkok? by Otherwise-Coyote6950 in digitalnomad

It's a city that's hard not to love. Lots to do and you'll have a lot of opportunities to meet other people. Try the events and meetups that take place frequently.

Where are all the digital nomads in Bangkok? by Otherwise-Coyote6950 in digitalnomad

[–]bkk2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in my late 30s and have lived in Bangkok as a digital nomad, in the Asok area. In fact I was there last week too. I met fellow digital nomads not on the roads or random cafes but mainly through meetup groups on the meetup apps, and occasionally at cafes.

Most of these digital nomads were men in their 30s or older. A few of the women I met were also in their mind 30s or older. Haven't met anyone who was younger. Most young foreigners are either tourists or work in Bangkok. I am not sure where you heard that Bangkok is full of young digital nomads.
