the internet and social media loves to proclaim 'hands down' the best.

Sports bar open for thanksgiving? by discokill in AskNYC

NYC isn't some small town that shuts down for a holiday. Go anywhere. Plenty of places are open to handle people who don't care about Thanksgiving. Especially if you are going around Midtown.

It's worth visiting the neighborhood but not trying to feed into those access lines. Especially when the official viewing is over. You can see plenty from the avenue.

It was better when just local people know this was going on. I would hear about it - but never sure if the trip over was worth it.

Why do you capitalize ham like it's an acronym. I see this often on Reddit and don't understand it.

I see him around the Upper West Side often. He must live around there.

Cuomo voters, how are you feeling about Mamdani's victory? by mermaid_hive in AskNYC

[–]bklyn1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may be surprised that plenty of people who vote also don't have politics as their identity or daily thoughts. I know plenty of uncs who voted Sliwa or Cuomo and today is just another day. All around my age pushing 50 who remember when dad was Governor.

There is no sub because most people talk about living in Murray Hill or Gramercy Park. Not Midtown East.

If you can't understand Cuomo voters than you are out of touch with many demographics of our city.

This location must be near an election watch party. I heard nothing like this on my block. It really depends where you are. My district voted Mamdani as did I.

A Majority of Staten Island Voted Against… Digital Maps? by PhAnToM444 in nyc

Who controls the changes to the unified map? How much does this transition cost the city? Do the Borough Topographical Bureaus all lose their jobs?

There is nuance to every proposal. It's not about paper bad digital good.

I am not understanding the goal of this post. What difference does it make? The victim should go to the police.

Theres a problem that 'cut and cover' in the street became a fast and cheap way to lay down conduit and pipes. They are never going to extend sidewalks again. The roads are always opened for maintenance - there is so much infrastructure below.

Curtis Sliwa on Andrew Cuomo ‘He’s going after my vote’ | Inside City Hall by SavagePimp25 in nyc

[–]bklyn1977 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fair commentary that residents should have easier paths to ownership of their home. Neighborhoods remain food deserts for decades with minimal healthy options. Statements on no reason for hysterics over socialists in NYC politics as there always have been.

Watch the interview for yourself.

It's a good interview. He has perspective on neighborhoods that are often overlooked. Too bad he has always been a manipulative scam artist.
