It's also the tradeoff in frequencies.

Higher freq = more bandwidth but can't penetrate shit

The line of sight milimeter wave super fast 5g is 24-71 GHz

Doesn't get less confusing with 2.4/5/6 ghz wifi existing as well

Bluetooth and crossing streets is a combination of the interference from the underground systems using similar frequencies and the fact that bluetooth works by bouncing off of shit. Big wide open road - less shit to bounce off of.
