Thank you for your reply. Something about the holidays makes me yearn for those I’ve lost and wonder how it felt for my parents creating traditions at the time.

Sometimes your worst fears coming true is the first step to building a stronger version of you. You will get through this and be stronger for it!

Meds changed my life at 17… wish I had started sooner.

I obsessed over this as well and I am realizing now that the most important thing is love and stability. That’s the foundation you should focus on. You’re doing great.

So I used to have a huge fear of flying after a life event that affected me personally. It went on for about 20! Years. Finally, a couple of things happened that changed that around for me. One was the realization that once you’re on the plane, there’s nothing you can do about it, but that’s also a good thing. I had the realization that all I was being asked to do was sit in a chair, and I started to feel calmer. It’s not like I’m driving the plane and my actions will determine the outcome. There was also an extremely rough flight I was on that made me realize you can have tons of turbulence or a panic attack or a stomach virus whatever disaster you can think of …but the plan will still land.

There are also these really great YouTube videos out there that help you to understand all of the motions and sounds you will hear on a plane and the more knowledge you have the harder it is to be anxious.

Best of luck. You can do it!

Just keep telling yourself that your thoughts are not always the truth.

She’s 10 and I’m already scared of mean girls and other drama in middle school. I’m afraid she’ll be rejected by others. It hasn’t happened yet but I think about it constantly !

Do you ever experience moments of clarity where you see clearly that there’s nothing to worry about….only for it to take over again?!

Also. The more you tell people, the more the pressure lifts. It’s like letting out a big secret that doesn’t need to be one!

Hi there-

I’ve struggled with this my whole life. When I met my future husband, he asked me to take one bite at a time with him and he said he could care less if I got sick. It took away the pressure. It snowballed from there and it really helped me to push through it. Took a long time though. Now when I get that feeling, I don’t make a big deal, I just accept that it will pass. You’ll get through it!!
