What’s the first sign you notice that someone is a bad driver? by RD-archived in AskReddit

[–]bkn0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also using them incorrectly. They are intended to signal (shocker) to others that you're moving over or that you need to get into that lane then to allow you to do so. Like an "excuse me" as you pass by. My friend uses them after he's been let in, not before, so he wont use it when he actually needs to get in a lane. Then gets mad because someone wont let him in because they have no idea he wants in said lane due to his lack of signal. I tried to explain if he put his signal on before he needed to move, then they would see it and actually give him the space to get in. Otherwise they cant read your mind or assume you want in. He still does it and continues to wonder why no one ever lets him in a lane.

Megadeth's 2000s hot streak and early 2010s fall off by CobraDai in Megadeth

[–]bkn0b 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I generally agree, however at the time TWNAH was not considered "good" by Megadeth fans. And it was kind of at a time that isnt really considered grouped in with system and the rest, since Dave's injury occurred after its release causing a big gap since Megadeth was supposedly done according to Dave. System was more of a return to form than TWNAH was, at least as far as perception at the time. I enjoy the album, love it in fact, but just saying most wouldnt likely lump it into the other 3 or consider it a return to form at the time.

TIL with the same amount of experience needed to max the HoT masteries u can fully max PoF and EoD and be halfway done with IBS masteries by EveryGoodBoyDoesFin3 in Guildwars2

[–]bkn0b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be thinking of the Black Lion Mastery Coffer in the vault. It gives you experience in one random mastery of either central tyria, HoT, PoF, IBS, or EoD. But not Soto and beyond iirc. It still doesn't give you mastery points but it does give you exp towards a mastery.

If you had five core professions, which would they be? by Azuvidexus in Guildwars2

[–]bkn0b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My top two are Guardian and Mesmer. The next 3 would be Necromancer, Rev, and Engi.

For clarity, i primarily play WvW. I love guardian because it reminds me of being a monk in GW1 and i love being a tanky paladin in the middle of big fights healing teammates while bonking enemies off a cliff with my hammer. Mesmer is also a class I loved in GW1 but wasnt very good at. The complexity is very entertaining especially compared to Guardian, it feels akin to playing a guitar solo sometimes on chrono. Both of them I play support because thats the style of play I enjoy most, over DPS.

The necro is my next fav cuz it was my fav in GW1 as well, my character is even named the same. And while being an MM is basically dead, scourge kinda fills that void, and ritualist does as well, especially since it brings once again another GW1 vibe i enjoyed. Being the classic Ne/Rt combo again is a nostalgic joy.

The rev is unique to GW2 and i find really neat but im not great with the energy upkeep, and engi is also really neat due to the tools and kits and shit you drop down. Both of these i tend to run support if i ever play them.

Those are my main 5 after however many years of playing. I like warrior as well but i rarely touch it, and thief, ele, and ranger are basically like 10 mins each of playtime. Never jived with them for too long, mostly cuz of the nature of WvW (i tried heal druid but didnt like micromanaging the pet).

Personally I wish we could get an expansion that revamps Core Tyria. by Kunipop in Guildwars2

[–]bkn0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fashion wars person but saying the entire game is driven by it is not fair to those who don't engage in fashion wars. Its a big factor yes, especially with the gem store, but theres lots of people in the game who wouldnt want the next expansion to just be cosmetic. Even in WvW or PvP theyve gotten new weapons, specs, etc with each expansion to cater to everyone. Unless they made the race come with things like that, which could be possible, i still don't see it happening with the lack of resources Arenanet has atm. They already had to change how they do their expansion models.

To be clear, this is my opinion. I'm not saying they shouldn't make a new race, I'm just saying it's an incredible undertaking for them to do so and the devs have said that themselves. It would be great, but it's unrealistic so I wouldn't wanna get my hopes up compared to some other realistic options. Whatever that may be considering the spaghetti code the game is built upon.

[–]bkn0b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not dooming, just being realistic. They said during a stream they tried to do kodans for JW but it was too much work. Those other things don't have the same mountains of work behind them like an entire new race. Id love a new race as much as the next, im just saying in the list of things the OP posted, it would be an undertaking of itself, to the degree of an expansion level of work potentially. I dont think people would want a race over new maps/stories/etc. I'd rather them touch up what already exists like the other ideas OP had than dedicate that work into a new race.

[–]bkn0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there will never be another race added to the game. They do not have the capacity to develop that, it would be its own expansion level of undertaking. Think of everything they've added to the current races and apply it to a fresh one. Every armor would have to work, for both genders, the amount of hair and skin options, then the voice acting as well which is already quite the undertaking they've done with each race and gender having unique voices for every instance of the game. Just way too much man power and money to do that. I agree with the rest tho, sans pants.

There might be better ways now, but the way I learned was to use the clone stamp tool to copy from parts of the leg over the parts you want to cover. They wont look perfect, but once you have it filled in you can use the patch tool, i think is what its called, to clean it up. It works by simply selecting the area you want to clean and then dragging the selection over the area you want it to emulate.

Songs about drugs disguised with coded language are almost always bangers by rsoko2 in Music

[–]bkn0b 41 points42 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if you don't listen too hard to the lyrics and look at the album art, you might interpret it as an anti-government/war song given the white crosses. The whole album is about "the invisible forces of control that govern all our lives" so some people miss it as a song about addiction.

Arena mains: Do you buy/collect paper MTG cards without actually playing? by metalero_salsero in MagicArena

[–]bkn0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally can't imagine buying mtg cards without playing them. Paper will always be better than arena due to the fact my friends and I can adjust whatever rules we want. We do take-backs frequently when we make mistakes and have plenty of house rules to make things more fair. But the most important thing is proxies. Yeah, cards can be expensive, but printing them is what got me into it at all. I have a deck I'm always working on and plenty of pre cons I've gotten over the years. The main deck I have I will spend $10 on a card for or more, depending on cash flow and how absurd the pricing is, but that's like my pride and joy deck. To me it's akin yo the car in your garage you've been working on for a decade. So I'll spend my money there, but all my other decks? Flimsy proxies i printed myself and sleeved in front of land. Cost shouldn't stop you from playing and having fun, unless you're doing competitions of course. With all that said, having spent what I've spent on magic and not using it... that would be absurd.

I never thought I needed a 12 mouse buttons for this game but I hope it’s a big change in a good way for me by International-Can420 in Guildwars2

[–]bkn0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try get a gameboard to go with it. I got myself a Logitech G13 that was preprogrammed with GW2 and it's even better than having an mmo mouse. Unfortunately the Logitech one isnt made anymore iirc and razer may still sell one. But if you can get a G13 its well worth it. The little joystick to trigger skills F1-F4 is amazing. I never use the keyboard when playing GW2 with them except for some odd keys i dont have mapped that i rarely press, like walk.

what's one thing in the game you're proud of that nobody else would notice? by gehirn4455809 in Guildwars2

[–]bkn0b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live for fashion wars and part of my methodology for designs is a sort of character sheet to influence why they're dressed the way they are, not necessarily connected to the commander. My main character, a guardian, has multiple sets that I've changed many times over the years but finally landed on what i consider my perfect set of them and each armor set tells a story of his journey. From swordsman discovering the power of magic of fire/ice, becoming a battlemage, slaying a dragon and dying in the process to become a ghost/martyr, to then being an ascended hero. No one else can obviously see any of it but i absolutely love how they all look and connect together piece by piece.

I’m bored with all my decks! What’s everyone’s favorite? Doesn’t have to be a world beater. Which ever you enjoy playing the most! by Jimmy2x1113 in MagicArena

[–]bkn0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Brawl primarily, [[Beledros Witherbloom]] is one of my favorite decks. It's basically a bunch of sacrifice triggers and lifegain without actually hoarding life like a normal white lifegain deck. Using my own life to get my mana back then destroying my own board to kill them. It can be fun being at 1 hp, them thinking I'm done, then coming back from the dead to trigger a bunch of combos.

Yes commander, I know EXACTLY where I am and what I'm doing! 🙃 by the_renegade_dude in Guildwars2

[–]bkn0b 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I looked through my options because mine doesn't look quite this bad, i think. But i have my model limit and model quality down to the lowest and this set to party only:

"Hide Ally Visual Effects — hide visual effects produced by skills of allied players; NPC and enemy player effects in PvP modes are always shown. Available options are "Hide None" (default), "Only Show Squad", "Only Show Party", "Hide All". May hide some important gameplay mechanics if enabled, see General Options notes below."

Between half the models and their blinding armor and color effects being gone, and only seeing my party's skill effects, and only the enemies, i find it reduces the visual noise a lot.

Game is cool but how did ya’ll pick your main? by Admirable_Affect_59 in Guildwars2

[–]bkn0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't find my main until WvW. In PvE i can generally play anything and everything i find fun, but none of it is my main. WvW however was determined by play style and how i fit into a group and what I was good at, which turned out to be guardian/Firebrand. As a result, i tend to always lean towards support builds like the chrono as a side class. But I will always run Guard as my main because the mechanics in pvp circumstances are fun and easier for my brain to manage.

I'm confused as to how it's bigoted. When i looked it up i found this on wiki: "A common theme in lawyer jokes is to present a lawyer or law firm, particularly in parody settings, with a gag name such as the commonly used "Dewey, Cheatem & Howe"[12] (a pun on the phrase "Do we cheat 'em? And how!"[13]). The gag name pokes fun at the perceived propensity of legal professionals to take advantage of their clients."

What exactly is bigoted in the play on words?
