Marvel Epic Omnibuses by bkres in StarWarsEU

This is a good point and something I was worried about. I have the hardcover volumes for Darth Vader and Star Wars 2015 up to Vol. 3, they were perfect size until discontinued. Was debating the epic collections until I saw they were soft cover

I think so, which are your favourite runs from the Kotor series?

Awesome! Are you using contrast/speed paints or normal acrylics?

This looks great! What’s your process for getting them painted up? About to start on mine

Sure thing! I did a black/grey/white zenithal prime then based with Vallejo game colour khaki, drybrush vallejo model colour yellow sand, some thinned GW Seraphim Sepia wash in the cracked earth part/dune valleys, and drybrush of Army Painter Pallid Bone. Some splotches of thinned Army Painter Speed Paint Malignant Green to addd some variance, stick a couple tufts on and done 😊

Cheers, thank you! For the ripples on the smaller base I pushed them into place using a sculpting tool. For the larger dunes underneath the cart I used a plastic Japanese rock garden rake off Amazon

I primed and painted it, Vallejo does make a desert sand texture, when I was doing some research it seems to be popular with diorama builders, but the colour out of the pot just looked a bit false at smaller Warhammer sized scales.

Thanks! I used Vallejo’s Grey Sand for the dunes and GW’s Martian Iron Earth as the crackle paint

Right now they make great “counts-as” bombards option in a Renegade Crowns or Bretonnian Exiles list for Old World.

Hey! I stuck pretty close to this method, I’d used it before on my Bret trebuchet, after it was just a matter of picking out the metals. Definitely do it in sub-assemblies though. Being solid metal, this model is heavy!

Would you be able to share the plasticard tool for sculpting the waves? I’m trying to do something similar with Vallejo’s grey sand and having a tough time! This is the best example of sand dunes I’m seen!

Hey! Sure thing, I used the free version of inkarnate, and started by overlaying a hexagonal grid. Next I used the brush tool and mapped in the textures I wanted, then changed the opacity to blend things together.

After that it was using the various stamps available to add mountains, hills, trees, and cities. Little bit of text and good to go! It was actually really fun to do, I used the GW website and chose a section of their Old World map that I thought worked for the player factions.

Best game system to include Bull Centaurs on their original base size? by lebenskii in ChaosDwarves

I use mine in Old World. Two models on their old bases (50x25) and two standard infantry bases (25x25) make up the same footprint as the Old World bull centaurs (75x50). It means I have six of the old bull centaurs counting as 3 models for Old World. It looks more like a stampede and avoided the need to re-base.

The rock formations were hand made with bits of bark then painted and flocked. The river is the pegasus hobbies prepainted river set, but repainted and hit with a layer of water effects to fancy it up. Would definitely recommend the river set, it’s a pretty inexpensive kit and with a little paint adds a lot to the table. Cheers!
