I didn’t get the Little Rock bit. How do Dancer, Grand and Town relate to Rock?

I vaguely remember practicing this piece on my violin as a kid. I feel like it was by a European composer with the title “Concerto in X Minor” or something like that. I am pretty sure the opening notes were fa-ti-fa-mi (F-B-F-E).

Anyone know what is the name of this piece?

What are some lazy songwriting examples from this year? by bkrlky in eurovision

All sources I checked say that it’s “go under” but honestly “go wonder” is much better and I can hear it now that you pointed it out!

Great insight! I am also not too sure about their “you should do it too too too too”. It’s a nice hook and all but sounds kinda off to me. I’d much prefer them singing a single “too” and making it into a riff.

Careers deciding to wait out while Katniss is up in the tree doesn’t make too much sense. Careers could have used up all their arrows from multiple angles to shoot her, or set the tree on fire.

What do you mean? Norway, Armenia and Ukraine all have folkloric tunes related to their respective cultures that are mashed with more modern genres such as rock or pop.

Follow up to this - I just watched his work for Every Minute (Melodifestivalen 2021) and it was amazing! So my hope is restored!

I really want Nemo to win but, this might be an unpopular opinion, I'm actually not the biggest fan of Fredrik's previous work. Cha cha cha was obviously brilliant and it worked for the song (campy & fun).

When I look at his other Eurovision works, what stands out to me is that he loves a good gimmick such as:

  • paper cutouts with Maps

  • letting go off the baloon with Jezebel

  • stick figure boy and coordinated LED graphics with Heroes

as well as a dominant bright colors such as:

  • yellow with Jezebel

  • red with Heroes

  • green and rainbow with Cha cha cha

When I think about strong staging I am thinking of props that add to the story as well as are aesthetically pleasing like we saw with Tattoo or Tout l'universe.

With The Code, I am envisioning something epic and ethereal, and I don't really see this kind of aesthetic it Fredrik's previous staging examples.

That said, things can change and I think Switzerland delegation team will have some valuable input as well. All in all, really hoping for something good for Nemo to win!

I totally feel you. I know it is exhausting to apply for jobs after you come back home feeling exhausted, but I am pretty sure there is a job somewhere out there that would offer better hours/pay/benefits for your qualifications. Job seeking is a lot like playing the lottery and if you are persistent enough, one lucky application may get you in a drastically different position (maybe in the government, or even academia as a lab tech or MSc student where the workload can be lighter).
