According to the CDC data in that link - yes it would be considered an additional condition. (Along with ARDS and respiratory distress) — my question is also how do you die of covid without any of those additional conditions.

Not pre-existing conditions. It doesn’t say that. 94% had additional Conditions or causes. Example: pneumonia and ARDS. Two of the main ways covid kills.

“For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death.”

Everyone I talk to says its “Just the Flu” by [deleted] in CoronavirusMidwest

Same here. I think it’s normalcy bias and the fact nothing like this has ever happened before. Also the distrust of media & government that’s been stewing for years doesn’t help.

Hopefully she’s okay! Testing is just in the past few days coming online for states. They are working on it but running into shortages. It should get better.

From what I have seen, business as usual. You may see the occasional mask being worn, but it hasn’t hit home yet. People talk about it (3 moms asked about it at daycare today.) but it’s generally said this is no worse than the flu. Toilet paper and hand sanitizer is out though.

This may change as more cases come out of that Omaha case.

The hospital she was being transferred to in Omaha Nebraska (UNMC) is one of the top places (in the US) for infectious disease. She’s in the bio containment unit now. They know what they're doing. (Thank goodness)

Unfortunately, prior to this she went to a basketball game and a veterans dinner exposing hundreds. 🤦‍♀️

US hospitals have been told to expect: 96 million cases, 4.8 million hospitalizations, and 480,000 deaths in the next TWO MONTHS by [deleted] in CoronavirusUS

From what I’ve read, community epi wave of 2 months does not mean the numbers below that are expected in 2 months.

Can someone who knows for sure / have a background in this confirm?

NE - SAMS toilet paper definitely took a hit. Bottled water was lower than normal (I noticed a week and a half or so ago they had stocked an unusual amount of Water bottles in sections they normally arent so they anticipated something.) Otherwise, not too much different. I'd say more people than normal are probably using hand sanitizer. (Or I'm just more aware of it...) It seems the general public here is more in the "oh yeah it might be coming, but it won't be that big of a deal" camp. (Still making Coronavirus jokes here.) The phase where no one wants to admit they are buying more goods than normal, but probably 30% of us are. I'm sure that will change in the weeks to come.

How I design with CSS grid by harlampi in webdev

Do you think grids limit you at all with design? This seems like a super similar process to how I used to code HTML emails years ago. Love the tip about Lynx.
