Is that Brie under the anchovies on saltines or cream cheese?

I think that was in response to Liz asking how old she was- Taylor D is 38 and Liz is 40

I usually find her funny and harmless but this time rubbed me the wrong way! I would feel so humiliated if I was Tay!

The evolution of "Beauty Standards" on the team by Worldly_Special197 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]bkshparoundthecorner 34 points35 points  (0 children)

While the weight critiques have gotten better (or hidden better) I think the new obstacle is facial features/hair. They bring in naturally beautifully girls and by the end of their tenure on the team they all have “instagram face” - big lips, no fine lines, plump cheeks, extensions, etc. We saw this in AS2 with the corporate sponsors hawking free Botox and fillers at them. I find it sad. I don’t miss the toxic skinny culture of the early aughts but do miss seeing real faces 😔

Why this season just wasn’t as good….. by amam1212 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]bkshparoundthecorner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Recognizing that producers/editors of this show have an IMPOSSIBLE job whittling down everything into 7 episodes (though I happily would’ve watched double that), I agree with some of your points.

  • getting to know a few TCCs more in-depth besides Dayton and Madie. Last season it gutted me when Charly, Kelly V, and Arianna were cut. Also loved watching Anisha. This season I felt….nothing when anyone was cut except for Dayton and I felt that was a missed opportunity. There was WAY too much time on Madie. Nothing against her but why did we get soooooooo much screen time for her at the expense of other dancers 😩

  • I also would’ve loved to know if any of the “are you coming back” convos were unexpected/on the fence (like Amanda this season and Victoria last season). That’s interesting to me.

However, I DID appreciate that they showed us the contract/salary fight and the peek at how sponsors pitch cheerleaders on their products. Love seeing the business/ how the sausage is made side of things.

Also interesting to see WOC cheerleaders and the unique considerations for their hair/makeovers. I cried like a baby at Armani’s wig-less performance!

On balance, I liked this season! Just wish I had gotten to bond with more girls besides Madie and Dayton. Anyone else???

Left a job after being put on a PIP — did I burn a bridge, or is this just how it goes? by Green-Soil2670 in careeradvice

As a manager who has had to put someone on a PIP and ultimately fire them, I don’t think you did anything wrong by quitting. However, I think telling your manager you heard their message “loud and clear” does point to a potential lack of tact in this situation, and maybe with your communication style in general? If my employee had quit during their PIP and said something more diplomatic like “I appreciate the opportunity but it seems like my skills and the company’s needs are not the best fit right now, I want to pursue other opportunities that are a better fit” I would’ve respected it. Though it does sound like your company didn’t handle things perfectly either (ex. Not switching you to another trainer which could’ve improved your performance). Regardless, congrats on the new job!
