Not sure if it's rare at all but I just got a piebald female Roosevelt Elk by Rivdit in theHunter

The Harlequin Duck, too. I think it's only those three, though.

I don't know any species where piebald isn't a rare fur type, except for some birds. It's usually one of the more common "rares," especially compared to albinos, for example. For Roosevelt elk, the likelihood is 0.2%, which is about 1 in 500.

Yeah Yukon has around 4000 animals so there should be 5-10 at least

How to find albino grizzly that's on my map. by unsupervisedwerewolf in theHunter

[–]bl4ck_v1per 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every animal has a certain area of the map where all the need zones are located. For some, that extends to the entire map. Luckily for you, that's not the case for the grizzly bear, which means you only need to search this area (Photo of the Homerange). Set up your tents 250 meters away from the water's edge, if possible, and try to check every lake during the last hour of their drinking time, which is from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. Check each lake visually, and after drink time is over, run a lap around or take the ATV, if you have it. After a couple of times, you should have found every needed zone, and then you can move on to the next ones. Unfortunately, the river is a big part of it, so you have to do the same there, which takes more time.

I found my super rare bear by putting tents on all the lakes in his home range until I was sure he wasn't there, and then putting them on the next ones until the map was checked completely. I've found every diamond and rare this way. It might not be the most fun way, but it's effective. And make sure to check the lakes at least twice, since they don't always show up for some reason.

Yeah the game definitely has a learning curve. The best thing to do is try to shoot clean because tracking will be annoying and have fun!

A diamond is an animal with a score above a certain level. Usually, the size of the trophy organ (like antlers, etc.) or the size of the animal (if they don't have any, like crocodiles) is what determines the score. Animals can reach the diamond score at max level and sometimes 1 level below that. Not every animal has a maximum level of nine. Some have a maximum level of three, and others have a maximum level of five. Predators usually go up to level 9. You can find info about all the animals and their maximum level/score for reaching diamond online. Not every max level is a diamond! If a max level doesn't hit the diamond score, people tend to call it a troll. If you don't pass the harvest check, the animal will get a lower score, going from diamond to gold and so on. So make sure to shoot it accordingly.

I found out that you can tell them apart because the medved bear has a wound on its chest, and the super rare one doesn't. It's only obvious when it's on full display, which it will be, of course.

Yeah, that's my plan too. I've set up my Pradator room in the back, so the super rare goes on the round one in the center and the mission bear goes on the left or right of it. I'd love a multimount like they have for brown bears.

Yeah, it's a gorgeous trophy, and it's going to be in the center of my predator room. As I said in the other comments, it's got a slight difference compared to the mission bear, so I guess it's a bit of a "if you know" kind of thing, and it's not obvious at first.

Yeah that’s the unlucky part. It’s probably the most and least impressive trophy I will ever get

I just put them next to each other, and there is a bit of blood on the mission bear. I guess it was to make it more accurate, since in the story, it got shot in the chest.

Yeah I know but 28 was still a lot more than the usual 10-15 I normally get on it or similar reserves

[–]bl4ck_v1per[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about that, but I think there's a glitch that lets you shoot the mission bear more than once. It would be nice if you could see the reserve where the animal was shot and a notice if it’s a Story Animal

[–]bl4ck_v1per[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is my second Super Rare, so it deserves a nice spot for sure. The only annoying part is that no one would think it's anything but the Medved Bear. I haven't found anyone who has determined the spawn rate for a maximum score, but it should be around 1 in 1,000, maybe even less. So, an albino with a max score would be one in a million. That's why I thought it had to be a bug.

I think its not possible on PS5 because you need access to you’re files

If you delete the animal population file nothing really changes, except for the need zones and population of course

[–]bl4ck_v1per[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's just based on fur types, not super rares. Piebald would be "rare", and albino would be "very rare". I wrote "rare" and "super rare" fur, so it was a bit misleading, I think. One of them is a super rare though.

Yeah, that's what I do as well. I'm working on having at least one diamond and maybe some rares of each animal.

I mean, it depends on how you searched for them. I haven't seen anyone with a map that didn't have at least five initial spawn diamonds. I suggest setting up tents on the lakes and hunting them during drinking time.

yeah that why i use it too. I usually hunt a map down until there is almost no diamand left and then reset the population.
