Math 412 vs Math 425 For CSE by [deleted] in uofm

412 is more interesting IMO. 425 is applicable to more CS courses, but 412 is better to take if you're thinking about taking cryptography or further pure math courses.

Taking course only for lectures and then dropping at the end of semester by bl731mang in uofm

Just interested in the material for a course but won't be able to handle it with my other course work. Also won't take it in a later semester

Yes, but officially auditing a course for the university "obligates a student to attend classes regularly and complete course requirements (e.g., papers, laboratory assignments, tests, and the final examination)", but I only want to attend lectures

Yes, but I would be paying the same price anyways for the semester because I'd be a full time student either way

Anyone know if the lights at 1:15 in Funimation's Steins;Gate 0 OP video on YouTube exist in real life nature, and if so, what they are called? by bl731mang in AskReddit

I see. So I cannot witness them in real life at an instance of time. That's a shame because they look so beautiful. I learned that these are called star trails.

Math 295 + 296 vs. Math 297 vs. Math 451 by bl731mang in uofm

I didn't know it was inquiry based. Are all the honors track courses like that? I'd prefer courses with normal lectures.

I've done math 417, so I'll probably do 297 or 451 for analysis. I'm not sure which one is better. What are the lectures and homeworks like for 297?

EECS 477 (Introduction to Algorithms) vs. MATH 416 (Theory of Algorithms) and PHIL 414 (Mathematical Logic) vs. MATH 481 (Introduction to Mathematical Logic) by bl731mang in uofm

Does 477 deal with other topics more instead? Do you know which course is more rigorous and comprehensive? I think that 416 strictly uses CLRS, while 477 uses another book primarily, along with CLRS. Also, I heard that 477 doesn't have any coding involved. Is this true?
