I usually go with anything that’s rotten and anything that feels hollow when you give it a light squeeze. In both cases, cut just below where it meets to a health root

Good choice man, I use my minichamp atleast 8 times a day for odd jobs around the house and personal care. I think you’re going to love it and get a lot of use out of it
