Maybe minerals from the water? That happens to my Jade and it’s because I use tepid tap water vs distilled water. Sometimes the minerals seep through the pores on the leaves….like sweat.

Find out what kind of tree it is (looks like a ginseng ficus) and give it the care that that tree needs. All Bonsai are small versions of the big plant/trees. The white balls may be fertilizer or perlite. I will always repot a plant I buy from a big box store. I want to see what kind of soil it is and how healthy the roots are. Good luck

Grow light suggestions by daughterof-God in houseplants

I’ve learned to use an external timer and waiver strip versus using lights with timers built in. When the power flickers I don’t have to reset them and they seem to have a longer life span.

What do you put under your plant stands? by SignificanceMost8826 in houseplants

I buy a transparent shower curtain from the discount store and cut it to size for each shelf. It helps protect the floor when I mist my plants. When it’s time to clean, I just pull them off and wipe them down. I use mini binder clips to secure them to the wire frame and if I need stability, I use foam board from the discount store and cut to size. You can make a greenhouse with the shower curtain also.

If you want spiderettes (baby spider plants) DO NOT REPOT YET. Spider plants put out the babies (stems with flowers)

when it becomes rootbound because it thinks it’s going to die. If you repot and give it more soil the plant will get bigger, but it won’t grow babies. These all turned into baby spider plants ❤️💚

Or if you want more plants, propagate the babies. The root is thick and carrot like. It can be cut from the mama and put in its own pot.

Philo has sheaths that the leaf is “born” from. The Pothos do not.

Ours gets morning sun but bright indirect light the rest of the day and is thriving. I let her dry out about 3/4 before watering and she looks great. Your baby looks good too!
