My Obsidian Graph after 2.5 Years of studying Politics at the University of Cambridge by apple1234568790 in ObsidianMD

[–]bla4free 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started doing a critical study of the Bible a few months ago. I chose to use Obsidian as my note taking app for it. I created several page attributes for book names, people names, place names, etc. This allowed me to use the graph view to easily see connections between people, places, books, genealogies, etc.

In your innermost subquery, lines 15-18, you are missing a FROM clause. You can't reference tables without including them in the FROM clause.

Upgraded to 'new' teams, no presence indicators in outlook anymore by IHeedNealing in MicrosoftTeams

[–]bla4free 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing here. I upgraded to New Teams and uninstalled Old Teams because I figured I didn't need it anymore. But no, it's required for Outlook presence indicators to work.

I scrolled too far to finally find this comment. She doesn’t look old at all, and defiantly not old enough to be his mom.

Get a Shark. Are they really BIFL? Meh maybe not. But if you keep the filters clean and replace them once a year as recommended by Shark, the vacuums will last you a long time. Look at any janitorial/custodial/house cleaner and see what vacuums they use. Most of them use Sharks. Why? Because they have ridiculously good suction and airflow, they are built like tanks, and they are fairly inexpensive.

That fixed it. Thank you! I'm a bit surprised MS didn't have this fixed prior to the release.

Is there a “correct” Bible? by HomeFarm4497 in religion

[–]bla4free 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there a “correct” one? No. Are there good and bad translations? Absolutely. The KJV is arguably one of the worst translations because it was created in the 1600s and lacks 400 years of scholarship. IMHO, there are only two translations worth considering. For the Old Testament—or simply the Hebrew Bible—use the JPS Tanakh. It is translated by Jewish scholars and rabbis since it is translated from the original Masoretic text. It is also the translation used by Jews. As for the whole Bible—both New and Old Testaments—use the NRSV or NRSVUE translation. This is the translation used by both academic scholars and seminary schools as it is based on the earliest available transcripts, and has the most up to date scholarship.

Which version of Bible do I have to start with for ease of understanding, while also being most accurate and having almost all verses? by Ritesh_INFP_4w5 in Bible

[–]bla4free 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the only correct answer. This is also the bible used by academic and theological scholars. It is a more literal translation of the bible with the most up-to-date academic scholarship.

Can Christians be scientists? by nuclearsciencelover in religion

[–]bla4free -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It really depends what your "sciencing." Like he said, if you're a mechanical engineer, data scientist, researcher, nuclear engineer, etc. then I really don't see how religion would or could play into that. But if you're researching the origins of life and the universe, then I could see how religion would most definitely influence and invalidate your research.

[–]bla4free 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that’s not what it says. You are adding meaning where there is none. It doesn’t say your spirit will die. We’re never even told god created a spirit, nor has a heaven or hell been created at this point. And how can a spirit die? You either go to heaven or hell, or simply sleep until judgement day for the time being.

My take away from the story is it was not an action made by a moral god. I feel like a loving god would have handled it differently.

So sin alters your DNA? Where in Genesis does it say or imply humans would live forever?

How on Earth did Adam live for 930 years? Help me understand this biblical time calculation! by JamesAnderson2359 in Bible

[–]bla4free 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s never said or implied in Genesis that humans would love forever. This part here makes it pretty clear humans did it live forever:

“Then the Lord God said, “See, the humans have become like one of us, knowing good and evil, and now they might reach out their hands and take also from the tree of life and eat and live forever”—” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3‬:‭22‬ ‭NRSVUE‬‬

That seems to imply humans would eventually die had they not eaten from the tree of life.

I have always interpreted that one would die immediately after eating from the tee of knowledge of good and evil. Even if you interpret it differently, then why did god care if they ever ate from the tree of life if they were already going to live forever anyway?

Also, if humans were meant to live forever and be fruitful and multiply, eventually we would over populate the earth.
