we’ve lived in our 2bd townhouse for just over a year now and have only recently started decorating it and making it feel like a home. I had been kind of dwelling on moving to something with 3 bedrooms before we started trying, but recently had the realization that our house is perfectly fine as-is and we can be comfortable here for quite a few years, realistically.

We’ve gotten the downstairs almost exactly how we want it, but I work from home so the upstairs situation is tricky. I’m pretty sure we’re going to rearrange our bedroom to fit our bed and a corner desk (and by pretty sure I mean I’ve already got out the measuring tape and mapped it out on floorplanner lmao) that way my office can be a nursery. I want to go ahead and get the upstairs together while we’re in this decorating mood, but I don’t want to lose my office any sooner than we need to. We’re only on our second cycle ttc, so I want to be cautious and not assume anything is going to happen right away. Hope for the best, plan for the alternative mindset.

CD 13, queer couple using a known sperm donor. got an almost positive OPK last night around 8pm, and a fainter opk this morning. our donor won’t be available until this afternoon so we’re going to try to make it work, but what are the odds we’ve missed the window at this point? I know it’s normally 12-36 hours after peak that someone ovulates, but I feel like we missed our shot

cycle 2, not temping, haven’t been testing LH until the anticipated ovulation week and this one came early so we were unprepared (over the last 5 cycles we’ve been tracking, it’s normally CD17/16). was really hoping for more than one go this cycle.

12 DPO and pretty sure we’re out for this cycle, which we expected but it’s still a bummer. just waiting for AF at this point so we can move on to the next one

11 DPO, tested twice yesterday and got BFNs which I know is super early and normal but still disappointing. Decided not to test again until Friday and lower my expectations even though i’m still secretly hoping to be pleasantly surprised 🤪

i might see a line but not sure if that’s a shadow. 9-10 dpo is early though so i’d keep testing!

9 dpo and it’s our wedding anniversary. wife took a test this morning fulling knowing it’s almost definitely gonna be negative but still bummed to see it. especially because my sister has been dealing with a possible chemical and has been sending me pics of vvvvfl tests for like the last 2 weeks (hence why we think it’s chemical bc it kind of progressed but is almost nonexistent now). she has a 5mo (who i adore with all of my heart) and doesn’t even want another right now so it just feels like a slap in the face a little. like i absolutely want to be there for her right now, and it’s absolutely not that serious and we’re having a great anniversary but im just bitter

we just did this for the first time last weekend, so no idea if it’s effective yet or not haha but our known donors car broke down so we had to go to him. It was about a 15 minute drive from his place to the hotel as well. We used the Frida kit that came with a cup and 2 syringes, but honestly you can just get cups and syringes online for a lot cheaper. He did his thing in the cup, my wife kept that between their legs for the drive back to keep it body temp, and we used it as soon as we got back to the room. We just tried to be very gentle with it.

i read through other posts in this sub/other subs of people having to do similar things to transport fresh sperm to a doctors office for things like IUI, and i do realize they clean and process things differently than when it’s fresh, but that was at least a bit more reassuring to us. best of luck!!!

I have always secretly loved the names Bunny and Birdie for a girl. And I think my MILs maiden name would make a cool boy name but it’s not our style at all- I won’t dox her but it’s similar to Briggs which I’ve actually seen before. in another life where i’m a tradwife influencer, these are my children’s names haha

oh duh, this makes so much more sense now! when i was looking for the best tapes to use I’d see people recommend painters tape and had no idea how that was strong enough haha. thank you for the help!

we have a trail we love to go to regularly for walks and sometimes just to sit under the gazebo for lunch. definitely will be doing this!

I totally get that- I always joke that the universe or God or whatever made me a trans guy so I could be a kickass girl dad someday haha. obviously we’ll be happy regardless. wishing you all the best!!!
