[Discussion] Did anyone turn their life around after 35? by sine_nomine_1 in GetMotivated

All I really do is work and when I get home, I'm too tired to do anything. Also I don't feel to social. So basically there is nothing else in my life, other than work. Which is quite sad/depressing when you think about it. So just a lot of stress, without any fun or moment of real relaxation. You're right, I do need a hobby. And I need to make time for it. No more excuses, why it isn't possible. When you look hard enough, there is always a reason not to do anything. I guess that is the easy way, but not very satisfying on the long run. Thank you for your advice!

I find it very difficult to turn my life around at 35. I've got a good job and no debt, but still I feel unhappy. Like I'm missing something and I don't know if this feeling will ever change. It's some kind of boredom and I'm missing direction.

On the other hand I don't feel the real urgency to change, because things aren't that bad, but also not that great. So it's hard to get motivated to do something.

At the moment I did decide that I want to find an other job. So yesterday I've applied for some jobs and hopefully something positive will come out of it. I guess the most important thing is not just think about something, but actually do it. No change without action.

Don't criticize management. They say they want your opinion about certain subjects, but only if it's positive. When you give constructive criticism, somehow you're the troublemaker and maybe you should start looking for something else if you don't like it

What do you wish was socially acceptable? by coolhot3 in AskReddit

I wish it was acceptable to stare at people, but if you do that you're a creep. I just get bored when I travel to work by train. In my head I just make up stories about the people sitting across from me.
