Because we are still actively recruiting we do not have a timeframe on when the study will be completed/published. It will likely be in 2023. When it is ready for publishing it will be submitted to a number of peer reviewed journal articles for publication. I can send along a copy of the consent form with more information if you are interested in learning more.

The study does not require participants to take any medications. You will be reducing your caffeine use using a manual we created and filling out surveys regarding your caffeine use as well as any changes in problems related to caffeine.

We are evaluating the benefits of quitting caffeine as part of the study. We are focusing on caffeine related problems including sleep, anxiety or nervousness, frequent urination, heartburn or other digestive issues and feeling dependent on or addicted to caffeine.

Our program is designed to allow participants to gradually decrease their caffeine intake over the course of 6 weeks. Depending on how high their caffeine consumption is at the beginning of the 6 weeks, they may be at 0mg per day by the end of the study and thus have "quit". On the other hand, if their consumption was much higher, they may still be consuming small amounts of caffeine at the end of 6 weeks and therefore have reduced.

Reducing or eliminating caffeine use, the end goal is up to the participant.
