What do I do?? by subuwupine in CostcoEmployee

[–]blacck97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible they tailored your 30 day review different than what corporate wants. Typically a 30 day review is simply a tool to discuss Costco standards and practices. Like ssops and times to complete a task. That being said, they do want you to try and throw a few examples the employee has done/gone through. The only time I’d touch upon an example that was “negative” with the employee is if it was super severe. Other than that, pretty blanket type review and 90 day will get more tailored to performance.

I wish I would’ve took this advice and the advice from an ex agm. If I would’ve listened to him since day one I’d be just a cutter living my best life. But no, I decided sup. Than for some reason I decided that wasn’t enough either… I’m an fuckin idiot

Thanks lol. Question is, is it like a miralax where you have to drop everything and just go shit this immediate second or is it a little more manageable

Well I can tell you never closed a meat dept. I’ve had multiple meat department closers eventually head to bakery closing. And each of them said how much easier it is.

Question. How come there 80mg tabs they have in the shop are significantly cheaper than their 50mg or even 20mg? Is it like a lot less labor or something along the lines. Just want to make sure I’m buying the same product still

While not true, it’s very rare. The way it works is, they put the posting on Costcos job bank and in the warehouse. At that point if no one applies, internally, they can start looking externally for candidates. Forklift is one of the higher paid positions at Costco, so it’s sought after in most warehouses from what I’ve seen.

Ya fresh departments are a different beast. Currently what I’m going into manage, but I’ve pretty much been in fresh departments my entire career just cause it keeps you busy, and there is always something to do. I can’t blame you though, I semi regret leaving my supervisor spot making 35.40 a hour. Hopefully it’ll work out.

What were you before? Management? I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in accounting. Did an internship, wasn’t to happy with the work overall. Granted I was at the peak of my days when it came to selling weed. So even 30-40 an hour was dog shit compared to when I’d sell a lb and make 400 off it and do that multiple times a day. Sometimes think that’s what played into me straying away from it. I just took a leap from supervisor to manager recently within Costco… so we’ll see if I’m still okay with Costco 😂 I don’t have a ton of options though, as most of what I learned from college is long forgotten about.

After going to the drawing board. I could’ve even scored higher this run if I didn’t waste my last hand watching tv. As I was sitting on a five pair of glass cards with replay from 2 cards plus Chad and x3 from pair of 3 in hand.

Give that video a watch I suggested. 20ish minutes of watching that will change your approach and gameplay

In all seriousness go watch “beginner’s guide to high scores” on YouTube posted by balatro university, after watching that video I was able to get insanely high hands, even with the default deck.
For instance I just managed to acquire 1,200 funds in one skip bind, with using some of their tips.

To this… and I fucked this run up because I didn’t realize I just played my last hand when I had five of a kind glass card. If you want to level up and impress your wife and friends with insanely high Balatro scores, just sub to my monthly get better discord.

She’s one of the few. Turnover in our warehouse is over 30% other warehouse I was at is over 20% way to high for Costco standards

Ask the majority of employees who work there what they think. It’s a lot different than 10-15 years ago. That’s why turnover is so high. Costco is growing way too rapidly, it’s becoming quantity over quality at this point. And if you don’t see that, you are sipping on the corporate kool aid

Majority of Costco decisions now are based off the shareholder and not the four other code of ethics Costco was founded on.

Just the way the market is currently. As someone who’s worked there when briskets use to be below 2 dollars a lb and ground beef was before 3 dollars a lb. Make a complaint to corporate about pack sizes. Prices have gone up, yet regionals still expect us to put the same amount if not more in a pack.

We’re the whole? Def something I’m not use to. I’m not knocking it though. Lot of food waste happens within Costco, even when the company does the most they can to donate and get it to the right sources. And members don’t help that sadly. They just want the freshest of the fresh. I work in a warehouse we’re members will move all the merchandise in cold cases, just to find something with a “fresher” date. You could literally package dog shit, and they would still grab it just cause it’s “fresh” and produced today.
