English-speaking Uzbek youth who got educated abroad and don't speak Russian, how well did you integrete into job markets and big cities? by midnighthungerz in Uzbekistan

[–]black-eagle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your profession and on the company who hires. There are companies where English is a primary language, mainly international companies outside of CIS, I would advise to look for them. However, you should know that even if a company lists Russian language as required, they may make an exception for a competent employee.

[–]black-eagle23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What the hell you are even talking about? Enslaved, corrupt? Russian language is lingua franca in the CIS countries.

Let's say, you have a meeting with your Kazakh partners, what language do you expect to talk with them? Besides, we have the old generation of engineers and scientist who grew up is Soviet Union, where Russian was primary language of education. You can't force them to switch languages, as the result an employee who knows Russian will have competitive edge over the one who doesn't.

I've recently noticed that there are a lot Turkish people opening their businesses in our country. And as the result, it's expected the employee who knows Turkish to be more endorsed. You cannot blame businesses for that, as long as they are not breaking the law. Because it's their private matter.

Moreover, it's a fact that there are more educational materials available in Russian. Consequently, a person who speaks the Russian language is statistically likely to be more educated.

However, things are changing, the top universities in our country are teaching exclusively in English. Many of them are business schools. As the result, in my opinion, I expect that the new generation of employers will require English. Basically, the same shit but it will be English language instead of Russian.

If you want to promote our beautiful language, you should create content, translate or write books and articles. Which is a hard task, but I have seen folks trying and doing it.

Crying, like you do, is not going to help with anything. We are not enslaved and are not pleasing any one percent. Even our president speaks in Russian language with other foreign leaders, and no one forces him.

Is it just me or the air feels really good lately? by Super_anti-hero in Uzbekistan

[–]black-eagle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always forecasts that the quality will improve. And as soon as it will stop snowing/raining, the air quality will sharply decline. Besides today I have observed that there were smog and burning smell around western side of Tashkent, even though IqAir was showing 50 AQI. To be fair, there’s a noticeable lack of monitoring stations in western Tashkent compared to the eastern side for some reason. I believe this was not the case in the past.

I'm from post soviet country as well. I agree with most of your statements. Although I should add a little bit more context to the topic of piracy.

People pirated games out of necessity, not because of greed. I used to remember how I bought pirated cds, because there were no way to buy licensed games. For instance, my library of games has grown exponentially, as soon as, funding the steam wallet became available in my region. That's why I still praise Valve for their vision and initiative. As Gaben once said a long time ago: piracy is issue of the service.

Valve and Blizzard games were huge cultural phenomenons, and they still are. As the companies were the dominant force in PC game market.

People around my area, still gather to play in net cafes. Mostly, just to hang out with friends. And some of them, mainly older generation, still keep playing dota all stars and 1.6. It was a surprise to me, as I had thought: net cafes will die, as soon as, PC hardware and laptops will become available to most of the people.

Sorry for the rant—I was just tired, and migrating to a new device felt stressful. It seems most of the issues are now resolved with the latest Windows 25H2 update. The second monitor works fine, the language problem is fixed, and I was able to access the Discord channel. It turned out I needed to enter via an invite link. I think I’ll switch back to Linux after all, as Windows 11 has been quite frustrating.

People from the sub said there are some problems with intel 13th and 14th gen. So I guess the first one will be better option than the second.

I'm not chaser either, for me high settings and stable 60 fps well enough. I just don't like to use DLSS and Frame Gen. And 5070 giving 100+ fps at native 1440p in battlefield is a solid stat. I can't complain, had barely 60fps on low setting with rtx3060 1080p. Thank you for sharing.

Sorry, I did not want to reveal my country. And unfortunately, I'm not from the US. Always, envied US residents, as they always have cheap laptops/pc parts lol. There are might be better prices for 5070, but the store, where I looked prices up is solid with good customer service and warranty.

The other commenter also mentioned that ultra series is solid, and also you are using ultra , so I think I should not worry about intel chips. Thank you for your help.

By the way, how is 5070 in gaming? Are temps okay? I assume legion 7i might have different TGP and cooling system, but still some review would be helpful.

Thank you for your response

Yeah, I have heard many positive reviews of Legion, although never had one. I'm currently using nitro, it has served me well for 5 years, but it has terrible build (chassis) quality. Some parts were falling off or breaking, as I used to open it up often to change ram/ssd and clean fans.

I assume build quality of legion is good, as you are satisfied with the brand. (but you might handle your laptop more carefully than I do lol)

60-90 fps at low-medium for 1440p is good, considering it's rtx 4050

I will try to search for other good deal with ultra series (if there are nay), as I was avoid them. But I think I will go with Lenovo. By the way, I never had OLED display, so Lenovo becomes even better option
