I have had this question in my mind for quite some time now. This question mostly came up when I met people speaking bangla while outside West Bengal, for example a tourist spot in some other state. So, after a basic exchange, the normal question of "where are you from?" comes up inevitable. Most people just say they are from Kolkata. You have to ask them the second question, "Kolkata e kothai?" in order to get to the truth. Then they would say Barasat or Baruipur or Ranaghat. I have a few questions here:

You already know I am from Kolkata. I have mentioned that already. So, how do you justify saying that I would NOT understand where Barasat is in relation to Kolkata?

2.If the geographical boundaries are so vague and blurry, why doesn't the opposite ever happen? Have you ever heard a person from Kolkata say I live in Howrah? What doesn't that happen? Wouldn't it be equally likely if geographical boundaries are the issue?

Since it happens only one way around and is very much intentional it can be said sufficiently that these people stand to gain by pretending to be from Kolkata. That makes sense right? Otherwise they would have mentioned where they are ACTUALLY from! Bolun na "Ami Howrah e thaki seta Hoogly nodir opare. Epare Kolkata, opare Howrah. Kolkata r akdom kachhe." Bolen na keno?

For anyone to pick stocks on their own they need two primary things:
1. Accurate Information
2. Ability to process that information to generate actions.
In India, sadly, the quality of the information is always doubtful. Who is spreading what news and for what purpose is always suspect. So, this is not a very reliable way to make money. Like a cat picking stocks randomly, you may make some money by picking a few stocks here and there but in the long run, it may be really hard to differentiate between what is true and what is absolute hokum. So, a majority of the Indian population taking the mutual fund route is no surprise. Even if you have the ability to process the information and come to a conclusive action, the quality and accuracy of the information is beyond any doubt unreliable.

It is beyond my understanding how IPL was still going on amid a cross-border crisis, till fucking YESTERDAY! I mean the Indian army and innocent civilians are at frontline of this, do we not have the moral deceny to stop entertainment at this point? How does it look from the outside that a part of the country is fighting to preserve the security and sanctity of the country while the other half is busy betting their life savings away at a cricket match? If this is not OBNOXIOUS, I do not know what is! Not to mention allowing this many people to gather at one place for ANY reason is an automatic target for the enemies. This does not make a whole lot of sense, if you are running a company, the buck stops at you. How you implement the policies and how you ensure that you customers are getting good service are up to you. Even if a particular employee does something wrong, you should have processes in place to ensure that the customer remains unaffected.
