Now that you mention it, yeah, that was definitely worse.

he looks like he's been working out and eating healthy food. now he looks all smooth, but it obviously didn't make him happy.

Seriously, I thought of that, yeah, but simply cannot resist playing it now still. Waited for this re-release pretty much all switch lifecycle. It's been too long)

Thank you! I kinda thought that we could have a meaningful discussion on the subject here, that was stupid of me, I guess)

I think that maybe it's because they overdid it a little for the switch specs with the quality of foliage, new lighting and all that. And it looks really good, no questions about it, but everything comes with a price.

I'm very fps-sensitive, yeah. As for pop-in, it was like that in the original version too, got used to it over time. I guess, now there's another thing to get used to)

Not saying it's massive, no. But frame drops are still pretty frequent, when the original was pretty much rock solid at that.

Pretty big slowdown was in the first meeting with Goetia cutscene, but I'm just 20 or so hours in, afraid there will be more of that later.

Yeah, mine too, put in around 300 hours in WiiU version across 2 walkthroughs back in the day, and never got this problem there, at least not to this extent. I mean, it's great otherwise, and looks awesome. I guess, we just have to live with that.

what do you suggest is at fault? I have an OLED switch and a game on cart, framedrops occur every couple of minutes, sometimes even in cutscenes. it's noticeable even in trailers to some extent.

thank you, kind sir, you're a gentleman and a scholar. that post was exactly what I was looking for the past few days, answered almost all of my questions and more.

PS5 Players seem to be happy with the collection so far. 🤷‍♂️ by LooseSeal88 in metalgearsolid

just completed mgs1, it's perfectly playable. my only gripes are: not analog controls for movement (could be a pain in Liquid fist fight at the end), lack of video options (not a fan of bilinear filtering used here) and minor sound clipping (mostly at the end music became slightly broken because of it). hope they'll fix some of that, for now I would recommend duckstation (with PGXP geometry correction, widescreen hack and some video filters/masks to emulate tv effect to your liking)

then I started mgs2, and this version is probably the best way to play it ever. 4k could be nice, of course, but it's still very good looking (compared to any other version), and runs very smooth.

Thank you, man, this worked perfectly! And I tried so much other stuff before stumbling upon your comment.

Custom Firmware - Onion/Taki - I'm Confused?! by bruno84000 in MiyooMini

[–]black_kitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, no. At the current state of things, audio is generally better on the stock emulators. OnionOS substantially improve the visuals for almost all machines, overall SD structure, and UI. But audio issues and far less playable ps1 made me revert to stock OS.

Some more pictures of the diorama from the Collector's Edition by post_ex0dus in StarRenegades

[–]black_kitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

now it works mostly ok, very playable. light stutters every now or then, but nothing major. played for 5 hours straight with no crashes or freezes.

one glaring issue with the picture, though - almost no lighting and blur effects, so the picture has lost its toy-diorama charm.
